NP. Thanks for the link. I used to love watching Musso as a kid. Him running in open field with his shoulder pads hanging out and players chasing him holding handfuls of his jersey.

I loved Musso.

As I kid we used to play football in the backyard. Everytime someone would run with the ball they would yell,
"22 Johnny Musso".

He was a great RB to watch.

Thanks for the link

I gotta think it was destiny that Johnny played for Coach Bryant, can't imagine him playing for anyone else. Too bad he only had one year in the Wishbone.

Musso was my college football hero as a teenage kid growing up in the 70's. Everybody wanted #22 as their number in Junior High. I was lucky enough to get awarded #22 and I think I played a little better for the Jasper Jr. High Jets because of it. Johnny, thanks for the memories.

Johnny Musso remains my favorite Alabama football player even to this day. What made him special was his heart. Every recruit that comes to The University of Alabama should be made to sit and watch highlights of Johnny Musso. They should take note of his self sacrifice and dedication...his drive and passion...but mostly for his heart and love for the game. There will never be another Johnny Musso.

There will be a Johnny Musso again but probably not in our life time. The 22 in my handle is because of Musso. My # in high school was 22 and he will always be my favorite.

We have a lot of great players right now to be very proud of. I hope a lot will turn out to be as well thought of as Johnny Musso.

I moved to the area where Johnny was from and went to his high school a few years later. He was everyone's hero when I was a kid. One day on the first day of school, I wandered into a class a few minutes late and there were no more desks. The teacher sent me to a nearby storage room to get another desk. When I got back to the room with my desk, it had carved in the corner "Johnny Musso wuz here". Once I told my friends there was a daily fight for that seat until the teacher retired the desk.

Johnny Musso will always be a standard that I use for running backs. I was fortunate to get to see him play and then the other greats. They all had that desire to get the last yard or two witha sacrifice of their body. Pure desire. Thanks for the memories.

I played for JJH and I was 22 also!!! My buds called me little Musso and I was honored.

The Jasper Jets.....MAN that was along time ago....but some great memories.

We practiced on that old rocky field by Town Creek...and sometimes at Memorial Park...
