Great read.

After practice Wednesday night, Alabama sophomore receiver Julio Jones decided to stop by the mall near campus. All he needed was a pair of shoes, a quick errand, something that would take most people only a few minutes.

Jones knew better.

Everyone needs to calm down and stop calling for "JJ's breakout game." Julio even stated in this article that he's not just a receiver, he's a football player. JJ has an impact on every game he plays in, whether he catches 3 TD passes or not. How big was his FF in the USCe game?

This is the quote from the article that says all I need to know about Julio;

"I don't really care about how many catches I get, how many yards, how many touchdowns," Jones said. "At the end of the day, it comes down to did you have fun and help your teammates out. They're like my brothers. I not only play for me. I play for them.

"Who doesn't want to go hit somebody? If you're not getting the ball, are you going to take a play off and walk around? It's football."

Now that is 1st class all the way.:smile:

Great article. Thanks for posting.

Liked this quote as well:

"I get mad if one person brings me down," Jones said. "Even two, I mean, I get mad. I'm really hard on myself. I think I got that way from playing running back. I played corner and safety, too. I mean, I'm not scared to hit nobody."

I read that one (in hard copy) over my first cup of coffee this morning. Been feeling good, all day! :)

I know he's talked about as a sure-fire first-rounder after his Junior year. But I would not be a bit surprised if he comes back for his Senior year and a three peat.
If he does go in 3, he will have his degree.

Well, thank the good Lord he goes by his nickname!:eek2: His given name wouldn't sound as good being shouted in unison from the stands.

Nice read on a young man who certainly seems to have both feet on the ground - even though we've ALL seen how high off the ground they can get!
