Julio Jones Video!!!

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

Anyone know our chances of getting him?

Shear guess on my part, but I like our chances. With the number of receivers we'll be losing after this season I think we'll be able to offer him a very good chance at (significant) early playing time, maybe more so than any of the other programs on his list. I think he's good enough to play early no matter where he goes, but the amount of playing time might vary depending on the place. I certainly hope we're able to land him because I wouldn't won't to have to face him! :biggrin2:

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

Maybe there is a new definition for appalled? Maybe it is a good thing now days. I remember when the word sick went from being a bad thing to "sick" meaning a good thing.

Maybe so, I could agree with amazed, astonished, astounded or awe-struck, but the only way I could be appalled at his athletic ability would be if he took it to another school. I would also be aggravated, agitated, annoyed, agonized and aggrieved.

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

In all my years of watching high school football, the most dominated wide receiver I have ever seen. Clearly, he is #1 recruit in the country, right, RTO? Will be interesting to see what his season will be like with a new qb playing for Foley.

Better is the first thing that comes to my mind. :biggrin2:

Re: Julio Jones Vid!!!

why does there seem to be ZERO info for him when it comes to who he may be favoring, or even who he has narrowed it down to? Like at least a top 5 maybe? lol..

I say it's a LSU, ND, Bama race for his signature..

p.s. If I find out when or if he will be visiting ND I will be there in my 'Bama gear yelling Roll Tide! haha

I wasn't that impressed with Byrd last year. I know everyone talked about how great he was...and I think he was a good running QB, but as far as his throwing skills...I wasn't that impressed.

here's a little bump ... some new pre eval from rivals

Also in contention for the top spot nationally is Julio Jones of Foley, Ala.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound receiver hauled in 75 receptions for 1,306 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2006. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Louisville and West Virginia have already stepped up and offered Jones.

"In my opinion, Julio is the best wide receiver prospect in the country," Rivals.com recruiting editor JC Shurburtt said. "He impressed me both at the Baton Rouge NIKE camp and the Hoover 7-on-7 tournament last year."

His parents are favoring Bama (both are Bama fans); he also recently ran a sub 4.4 during his HS spring practice.

Man it would be nice if we got him and got him early.

Very nice indeed. If I were a big time recruit and I was certain where I was going to go, I would want to commit early so that I could do some recruiting for the school, like what Leak did when he committed to UF a few years ago. I don't know anything about JJ. Just posing a hypothetical.
