As a Philmer lookalike, he's very impressive.
So impressed that I believe once OU dumps Brent Venebles, Heupel will be their next coach.

When he 's not able to steal signs he's rather pedestrian.
Just like 3 star recruits who commit to us that wind up as a 4 or 5 star eventually....just like lightning in a bottle QBs who play out of their minds vs us (i.e. Manziel), and coaches who get a win vs us when we throw up all over ourselves (i.e. Malzahn), he's gonna get the ol' Bama bump. Definitely the leader in the clubhouse for the Bryant award.
He has done very well given the relative lack of talent he is doing this with. Let's see him continue to do this over time, but so far he looks like he might be a very solid head coach. In which case he will soon be a Sooner again.

Probably should have been more. He schemed a WR WIDE open twice between the 2nd & 3rd quarters and the QB just missed.
Yeah, if Hooker hits those passes Alabama never sniffs a comeback. The defense was horrible and TN had the perfect game plan and athletes to take advantage.
IMO, TN just gave Day the game plan to beat Alabama. OSU has better WRs and a far better QB. So, Alabama needs to fix the pass rush or this will happen again.
If Bama doesn't (somehow) figure this out pretty quickly they won't have to worry about the Buckeyes.
True, we can win the remaining games or easily drop 1 or 2 if the other team(s) get the right calls or breaks. Kiffin is going to score some points, LSU is kinda getting it together, with Leach you just never know, and the Auburn game should be a blow out (since we are in T’town this year) but that can go sideways too.
There are no gimmes when your coordinators essentially remove the competitive advantage you have with superior athletes.
I think the Bama Nation would take this scenario in a heartbeat this morning!
