How did we let this kid get away? Top 35 player in the nation from our own state? I understand if we lose a recruit to a national powerhouse but Virginia isn't that. They're rebuilding with a new head coach like we are. I just wish we would have gone harder after this kid as he is the real deal, averaging around 30 points per game and over 10 rebounds per game.

Virginia may not be a big name but they do play in the ACC and that was one o the big factors in his decision. A chance to play at Cameron Stadium, and the Dean Dome are a big draw to a lot of kids. Not to mention it has an excellent academic reputation. So he will be another kid to leave the state unfortunately. Got to watch another one today in Courtney Fortson.

Yea I wish we could start keeping more kids in state. We really need to keep Levi Randolph and Trevor Lacey in state. Both of these kids are winners and come from winning programs, which it seems like CAG loves that in a recruit. I feel like we just need one big time recruit to come to Bama and Coach Grant will start winning and more and more top players will start to come here. RTR

I don't know how true it is but I read that we took Hankerson rather than Harrell. It was an either/or situation. I'm of the opinion that we should have taken both because we need all the talent we can get, but if you look at the timeline of events it seems to support the original theory. Hankerson committed to us one day, Harrell committed to Virginia the very next day.

This is what i have heard as well. I think we may would take both now because of some injuries.

I had heard that too, but I don't understand why we wouldn't take both. But I guess that's why I'm not the coach and CAG is.

I don't see how we could turn down any 4 star player right now, but I trust CAG.

The fact of his quick turn-around commitment to UVa tells me that he didn't want to face the competition when we brought Hankerson. The way I understand it, it was only an either/or to him, we would have (and still would) take him if we could.
