Just saw on BOL that it seems Dean is giving BAMA a hard look now, and UCLA is listed as a soft verbal. Looks like Coach Saban made an impression on that recent visit. RTR! :BigA:

A group of us use to goose hunt in Katy, land in Houston and go on goose hunts outside of Katy..........small world............I have heard since that it is all in subdivisions now.

Most of it. There's a group that has bought up a lot of land to preserve some of the wetlands for the migrating geese, and many of them are hunters. North of Katy is still fairly undeveloped, but south of I-10 is Surburbia hell.

Dean and the Tigers are taking Clements HS to the woodshed. 21-0 at the end of the 1st qtr. David Carr, former Texans #1 draft pick, his little brother is the QB of Clements. Sucks for him.

There's a blog on the Chronicle website that you can track the progress of Dean and the Tigers...I'd jump at this kid in a heartbeat....we NEED him. He's a big, strong back. He'll deliver.

Now 28-0....geez. He has 85 all purpose yards (73 on the ground) in just over a quarter. Ouch!

Speaking of Derek Carr, after reading a bit about him he might be someone the staff wants to look at next year. There is no questioning what his brother accomplished at Fresno State. Supposedly, Derek is his slightly shorter (for now) clone. You must have something to start at a 5a powerhouse in Texas as a Sophomore.

Katy, Northshore, LaMarque, Aldine - just to name a few - always have good players.

We did get Damian Square from Yates this year, and Farmer from St. Pius (Gary Kubiak's school) last year.

Has Texas or A&M offered this kid? Seems to me that they would want to try and keep as much of the in state talent in state.

Don't know. I'll look in the paper this evening to see who he's considering/gotten offers from.

This one kind of surprised me (Dean), but he looks like he would be a solid pick-up for what is shaping up to be an already good RB class with Matchett and Preyear. Its sure going to be interesting to see who fills the last few slots of this class.
