NEW ORLEANS - Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart (right) is focused on Friday's Sugar Bowl, but commented Tuesday on the task of replacing standout safety Rashad Johnson. :eek2:

Now my question is why? :conf2:

Coach Smart was ask by Ian Rappaport about how you replace Rashad's ball skills and knowledge in 2009. This was the first opportunity the Alabama media has had to speak with assistants since fall camp, so lot of questions have been asked that do not relate to the Sugar Bowl, or even football.

Oh $@*%

WTH happened? I don't have a rivals or BOL account so I can read the whole story. Is RJ hurt, in trouble, what? Not good if he is not playing for this game. :eek2:

Ding. Ding. We have a winner.

Just my cents, but I don't know that you do "replace" a guy like Rashad. CNS has been quoted as saying Rashad is one the smartest football players he's ever coached. He knows the defense inside out.

We are really going to miss Rashad next year.

LCN, are you saying he is retiring before the Sugar bowl. I thought he was only 22, that to young to retire from football. :eek2:

I know why; he is going to be the single toughest guy to replace next year on the entire team.

I only hope his replacement is as good as he was his junior year.

His name goes in the concrete.
