I am somewhat aware of Evergreen Terrace. Every now and again I get a metalcore itch on long drives and they occasionally pop up.
That's undoubtedly my biggest problem. I liked metal back in the 80's and early 90's. I dug the grunge scene, too. I haven't really liked much after that. As my tastes have changed over the years, I'm finding that I'm more likely to listen to Jonathan Antoine than most of the rock made recently. I raised my son on Zepplin and Hendrix and now that's what he plays with his band. I don't think they have tried to cover anything made after 1981.

I don’t know these bands either. I listened to a few Evergreen Terrace tunes yesterday. When the lyrics and the message become more important than the music itself, I lose interest. Guys are singing in unison, and the tunes seem more like a rant than a song. I was not inspired or impressed.
