After watching the past 6 or 7 games, I have noticed that the more shots Lacey and Releford take, the more likely we are to win. At the beginning of this year and even the end of last year, Releford was driving to the hoop and able to score about 7 out of 10 times. This really helped provide us with the necessary points to win game (on average about 20 ppg). During this losing streak, he has just been hanging around the 3 pt line being more of a facilitator. Hes being more passive than aggressive.
Lacey is clearly the best player on the floor. He seems to be our "spark" this year yet he, just like Releford, doesnt seem to want to pull the trigger. He will have a few feet of space to shoot and instead of taking a shot, he will either hold it or pass it off.
I wonder if the coaches are teaching them to be less selfish which in turn forces them to lose that aggressive "edge." Thoughts?
