Does anyone else get the feeling that college football as a whole watches LSU games the way most people watch motorcycle stuntmen? It's impressive to watch someone make a living being crazy, but sooner or later everyone knows you're going to crash and burn. I think the "Mad Hatter" monniker fits him perfectly.
I think CLM knows that next year he won't be as fortunate as he was yesterday. As the players that CNS recruited start to graduate, Leslie's recruits will try to fill their shoes, but without a lot of success. I think he knows what's in the offing and takes the first decent offer he receives.

Very good point TiM. LSU should have no problem finding a suitable replacement for CLM, assuming he gets an offer from UM. Of course with their fragile psyche they will view CLM going to UM as a sign that on one loves LSU rather than accepting the real reasons CNS left and CLM might leave. Assuming CLC retires is no guarantee that CLM will automatically get the HC offer. IMO if he is offered, he is gone too much "Schembechler Michigan man" in him.
Bo Schembechler did not really care for him. I watched something on SportSouth the other night and Bo did not like that Lester had got a kid to renege on his committment from Meeshigan and go to LSU. I really do not believe Miles is revered to much. I do not see him getting offered by hem.
I really don't see him make the same mistake CNS admittedly made by leaving. I think LSU would have to kick his ..... out.

I have been watching CLM this season. After a few close games, I think he is having a 1999 Dubose and Shula 2005 season where the team's talent carries him further than his ability. He has had the most talented teams in the country the last few years and has so far come up on the short end of the stick. I think it is just a matter of time.
I would really be surprised if Michigan wants him. I think they see the same thing we all do in that the talent on this team has saved his lack of coaching ability in several games now. Do they really want a coach whose team is as undisciplined as LSU and gets as many penalities? I hope he stays right where he is so Bama can knock that smug look off his face next year!
Serious question...about LSU's talent. Offensively, who do YOU guys think was the MVP yesterday for LSU? You can't seriously say Flynn the senior, although you could give a nod to Hester the senior...since he had some strong runs in critical times.He didn't have much of an average, though...never does. He's dependable, and a great short yardage guy. The other backs are just as dependable...none of them have ever fumbled in the college careers. Hester has fumbled once, in his first ever carry at LSU.
Or you could say Demetrius Byrd, the JUCO transfer in his first year at LSU...or any of the other underclassmen who contributed to the yardage LSU racked up thru the air, in spite of the 3 int's thrown by Flynn.
And on defense? IMHO, the defense, mostly seniors...especially the starters...played TERRIBLE. The only one who consistantly played well is Chad Jones, #3...the FRESHMAN safety that sacked JPW twice, including the one to basically end the game after the fumble. He is the one I would say was the overall MVP...he is another Laron Landry...bank it. (too bad he'll be playing in the MLB instead of the NFL)
What I'm saying is this. Just because Miles continues to show favor to upperclassmen doesn't mean LSU doesn't have any young talent that was NOT recruited by Saban. ALL of the running backs except Hester that see any playing time are Miles recruits. All of the WR's except Doucet are Miles recruits. Next year, we will lose lots of great Tigers, as we definitely did last year. They will be missed, and then be replaced...by players that have been part of the top 5 ranked classes that Miles has put together since he has been at LSU.

I guess Chad Jones limited the Alabama offense to 20 rushing yards and .6 yards per attempt. How was he the MVP? He came on two blitzes and made routine tackles after being UNBLOCKED both times. By the way, how many interceptions or pass break ups did Jones have? None, while Chevis Jackson had an INT and 2 PBUs. Seriously, you and the rest of the Louisiana crew will say whatever you want to prove your point. You've been one of the most, if not THE most, classy rival poster we've had during your tidefans.com career. But, go back and reread your post. You'll go so far as to run down guys that have gave, blood, sweat, and tears for the LSU program for four and five years just to try to make a point on a rival message board.

I didn't run ANYONE down. But you manage to mention that Flynn threw the ball to Byrd...of course he did. But you cannot say HE was the MVP, after throwing 3 INT's...can you? And Hester? I wouldn't want ANYBODY running the ball in a short yardage situation...EVER. However, my point was that the others, all underclassmen recruited by Miles, are ALSO great talent. My point was to counter the argument that LSU will fall off after Saban's recruits leave. I dare say, with confidence, that LSU will be MUCH stronger next year on the offensive side of the ball. Well, I don't know what your standards are, but seven sacks and 14 out of 40 completed with an INT doesn't seem all that terrible. The fact that three of them went for TDs makes it look worse but I still wouldn't describe it as terrible.
