What are your early thoughts about the '26 schedule???

Sept. 5 - East Carolina
Sept. 12 - @ Kentucky
Sept. 19 - FSU return game
Sept. 26 - South Carolina
Oct. 3 - @ Miss. St.
Oct. 10 - Georgia
Oct. 17 - @ Hillbillies
Oct. 24 - TAMU
Oct. 31 - bye
Nov. 7 - @ LSU
Nov. 14 - @Vandy
Nov. 21 - Chatt. Mocks
Nov. 28 - the barn - "thumb plus pointer finger" game

Obviously, the meat of the schedule is Georgia, UT, TAMA and LSU, but outside of those 4 games in 5 weeks, I think the schedule is very favorable and maybe the easiest regular season we've drawn in several years.

I think the away game against KY followed by the home game against FSU early on will be telling. How we are prepared for an SEC team on the road and how we follow that up with FSU will depend on how dominant we can be against these two teams. Go 2-0 with solid wins in those games and we are looking good early!

I know the major talking points will be: 1. who's the starting QB, 2. is the OL/RB fixed/improved AND 3. do we show more physicality and preparation/readiness for each game.

If I assume we are solid or improved in these areas:

9-3 would seem to be our basement
10-2 very achievable
11-1 means solid QB play and OL and running game verify
12-0 QB turns out to be a star as a first year starter and OL and running game are surprisingly solid

I know it's early and I know we may learn a lot more during/after Spring practice, but it's the off-season, so what have you got on the '26 schedule???

Bye week is perfectly timed. It's just when they would really start to wear down after three very tough games in a row, and just before the toughest two game road stretch of the season. Then a week off against an FCS team, and the rivalry game before the postseason.

Pretty perfect.

East Caroline - W (1-0)

at Kentucky - W (2-0).....but they have a new staff and we'll have a new QB...hopefully we show up. If we look unprepared here, the DeBoer rumblings will begin in earnest.

FSU - W (3-0)....they'll get up for this

South Carolina - W (4-0)....probably will show up for this one at home.

at MSU - W (5-0)

Georgia - L (5-1).....don't think this one turns out well

at Tennessee - L (5-2).....high anxiety by Mel Brooks plays in my head

Texas A&M - L (5-3)....I just don't think we'll recover from the previous two and they'll feel sorry for themselves.

at LSU - L (5-4).....Kiffin finally gets Bama

at Vandy - W (6-4).....hope remains

UTC - W (7-4)

Auburn - W (8-4)

If we can get one of the 4 in the middle, great, we'll finish 9-3.

But if we lose one we aren't supposed to.....like we've done the last 2 years.....then I don't know how this staff survives.

We've had a bye before LSU all the way back to at least CNS's first years.

All I can say is I hope you are wrong! I just don't see us losing 4 in a row. I think it would take QB and OL being a total bust.

I hope I'm wrong too......but it feels like we're at the point of expecting something different while doing the same thing......the definition of insanity.

If the boys are getting that physicalness and tenacity in workouts now.....then I'd be wrong. I just don't expect that to be happening with this staff.

If we lose to UGA, Tennessee, A&M and LSU this staff is gone. I don't think that will happen though.

The season hasn’t started and you’re already saying we’re doing the same things and gave us 4 losses…can we find out who’s playing first? What our final staff looks like? We’re making changes, let’s see what it looks like before we “lose” 4 in a row…

Right now I'm viewing the games with UGA and LSU as losses so the games with UT and TAMU are the ones that make or break the season. I think we split between those two so I'll say a 9-3 regular season.

If that's the record next year there will be a coaching search. I hope you are wrong, but I'm worried you are right.

I can see that unless we caught lightning in a bottle in the portal wrt the OL and the new OL Coach.

Imo even though we addressed position needs we didn’t really have too many can’t miss home run gets in the portal at OL.

It’s a lot of guys who have potential or who were rated high in HS or who are maybe diamonds in the rough with experience at smaller schools etc.

I’m not saying that’s bad… just super unknown.

So yeah I have no idea how good the 2026 team can be or will be.

Looking at that schedule I’d guess there are maybe 6-7 should be wins.

There are also 5-6 could be losses.

I think our floor is 7-5 (hopefully no worse) and our Ceiling is maybe 9-3 or 10-2.

I just can’t in any way see being better than that with pretty much an entirely rebuilt OL and new QB and question marks at WR and RB other than say Brooks at WR.

It’s a prediction based on the schedule which is what was asked for.

How about let a person have their opinions whether it’s viewed as positive or negative or objective or subjective.

I’m so tired of people trying to monitor and censor people’s opinions around here when they clearly aren’t breaking forum rules in any way.

The sunshine pumping has become incredibly aggressive and toxic around here the last few years.

There’s two ends on that phone line…

If CKD made no changes, you would correct, but he did!

We've had wholesale changes of players (a whole new OL) and an OL coach who reportedly is known for expecting "Nastiness."

So there has been and will be change...we'll have to wait to see how the changes work, but to say there haven't been changes is not accurate.

Did you watch those units last year?

I'm kidding, but as good as Ty was when he was good, he was pretty bad when he was bad.

So if we get "game manager" play out of the QB position, I don't see how the OL can be worse and I fully expect the RBs and WRs to be better.

The law of averages seem to be in our favor.

Frankly, the negativity has been just as toxic, IMO.

I don’t see how the OL could be worse either wrt to technique and execution…I agree about that.

I’m cautiously optimistic about Klemm because he has produced some pretty good OL play in the past.

My main reservation is I don’t know how well we did with our OL additions.

People who know more about OL and scheme fits say the new guys have similar builds to the old ones so that makes me nervous.

But coaching can make a world of difference so hopefully we get better overall play.

We are lacking a true RB1 though imo unless we hope a TF RB immediately wins that role.

I like Hill and Dear though and Klemm has done well with a RB by committee running game too.

We lost a good bit at WR with Germie and Horton.

Noah Rogers is a solid addition and might be a wash with Horton but as far as we know we didn’t replace Germie.

I love Brooks and like Scott. I’m uneasy about everyone else.

If the OL comes together we will hopefully at least be more efficient… which in the end would be better.

I guess I feel like even if we are Better on Offense that doesn’t necessarily equate to a better record.

Last year’s schedule in hindsight wasn’t the meat grinder it looked like on paper.

To me this year’s schedule is just as difficult.

The last two season’s we’ve had road games with LSU and Tennessee we’ve gone 1-3 in those games.

They will be tough games with a new starting QB.

I’m grasping at straws as much as anyone though because we don’t have any idea how good the teams on our schedule will be either.
