If CKD made no changes, you would correct, but he did!

We've had wholesale changes of players (a whole new OL) and an OL coach who reportedly is known for expecting "Nastiness."

So there has been and will be change...we'll have to wait to see how the changes work, but to say there haven't been changes is not accurate.

Did you watch those units last year?

I'm kidding, but as good as Ty was when he was good, he was pretty bad when he was bad.

So if we get "game manager" play out of the QB position, I don't see how the OL can be worse and I fully expect the RBs and WRs to be better.

The law of averages seem to be in our favor.

Frankly, the negativity has been just as toxic, IMO.

Yes, there were roster changes and a couple of new coaches.....what I'm getting at is that I don't believe there will be a change in the overall program physicality. Along those lines, I don't believe there will a difference in what we will look like from 2025 to 2026 because of the lack of physicality.

I think we'll continue to get outmuscled vs the top teams and try to out scheme them.

Unless we've got a group of upper classmen that can get the program focused during spring and summer....I think we will look very very similar.

Now, I'd hope the OL is better.....don't see how it could be worse than this past season.

Maybe the QB gets comfortable after a few games and the running game looks better. Knowing Grubb is the OC though, I'm not hopeful about the run game.

If we are solid on the OL we could go 10-2… losses could be UGA or UT and LSU … All other games we could and should win… if you made me make a choice between UGA and UT I would probably say we win at home against UGA and lose on the road against UT. I guess we will see what we see.

We've already seen a development we didn't know about yesterday in the hiring of a new TE coach from Louisville, who coached the OL there, with a lot of success!!! This can only mean the OL is getting even more attention, which all of us agree is needed!!!

Here's my take. I'm going to optimistically believe the combination of QB/OL/RB play will improve, as a whole, from last year to this year.

While last year we had good QB play for about half of the year until Ty got injured/scouted, our OL nor RB groups never improved throughout the year. I just don't see how the OL and RB situations don't improve some and if they just become "good" we are in business!

This year, all we need our QB to do is be a good game manager as long as we show improvement in the OL and running parts of our offense.

If that happens and our defense gives us what they gave us last year (although I think the D will probably improve too), I think we are looking at 10-2 or 9-3 in the regular season.

And as long as those losses don't come as a result of being bullied at the LOS and/or to a team or two that has no business beating us (IOW, if we lose to teams like Georgia, UT or LSU, for instance), I think it means we are showing improvement from years 1 and 2 to year 3.

I'm leaning we finish 10-2 regular season. We go 2-2 in the 4 game meat stretch; 1-1 at home and 1-1 on the road.

This will likely get us in the CFP.

And here's the most important IF: If our starting QB shows growth and improvement from game 1 through game 12, this will give us a much better opportunity in the post-season. Last year we slipped in but, bless Ty's heart, he was playing at about 50% potential he has shown before injury. So get into the CFP with a QB who has improved and no longer playing like a 1st year starter (and I think either of these guys has that potential), and we see better days ahead!

Kentucky has a new coach, and I don’t see us losing in Lexington. Pavia won’t be returning next year since he’s declared for the draft.

9-3, or 10-2.

I think Keelon Russell is the next great thing at QB. Call me crazy but i had the same feeling when i first saw Tua play.
Great O line with a emphasis on establishing a running game and the sky is the limit.

We went to the EIU game cupcake game and there were 6 people (3 couples) that sat directly behind us who were from Keelon's hometown.

They were hoping to see him play a lot in that game, but they are obviously high on him.

Even though he's been compared to former guys like Tua and Bryce, I think he has some features that could possibly make him even better. That's not a prediction but I'm just saying he's got raw skills they didn't have...first and foremost, he's got a frame that supports adding some good weight, but he's also several inches taller than both of them too.

I have to check myself, but I think he can be very successful in his first year as a starter if he can win the job.

It's not that I'm rooting against Mack, but I think KR has a greater upside, although there might be a few more growing pains with his youth (even compared to Mack), but his upside is really, really high. I mean, if he even approaches Tua/Bryce success, we are probably talking about Heisman and NC possibilities if he can start two straight years!

And, let's just say Keelon and Austin are neck and neck. There is hype and excitement in the fanebase with KR that AM doesn't have and if Russell wins the job and we have a good year and we see growth...it would almost guarantee CKD will get a 4th year having a star QB returning.

Yeah, I like that he wants to compete and I firmly believe if he beats out Russell we should expect him to ball out!

Or, he really likes CKD, having committed to him after reclassifying a year early, straight from HS to Washington and he's followed him and is committed to staying with him no matter what.
