BREAKING LSU Firing Brian Kelly

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

So, Sark suddenly has announced his availability as an NFL head coach to the league that ditched him as an OC five years ago. Based undoubtedly on the juggernautical job he's done of developing the patented Shorthorn RPO game with Arch Manning (who was secretly awarded the 2025 Heisman via his 2019 performance in his 1/2-A Classification high school's production of "A Streetcar Named Desire and DNA Notwithstanding"...). Sark was probably about one More Cowbell crescendo of getting kicked to curb on the 40 Acres last week.
Sark got fired from Atlanta because the HC at the time blamed him gor the team's failures. Fans here blamed Sark as well. One year later and fans saw it was not Sark.

So once a player is in the portal they cannot continue to play for the team they are wanting to leave, correct? They are in a holding place waiting on another team to pick them up?
Didn’t Mizzou’s QB announce his destination and still “play” back-up for Penn St last year in the CFP? Pribula?

Coach O wants back in

Coach O: "Mameaux kwan arscheaux gumbeaux ? Arcgh aasoocyeahuex mhummpeaux, beaudeaux? Geaux Tigahs!"

Translation: "Mama, where's the gumbo? What time do you want me to be there and what door do you want me in, brother? Go Tigers!"

I would wager every single player on that roster rated 4* and above is currently having their agents reach out to schools looking for a deal once they enter the portal. Their season is over.

Someone really wanted CBK gone.

I keep hearing stupid things like , make Nick Saban say no, or offer him something he can’t turn down, like $20- 25/mil a year and LSU is Saban’s first love. What makes people think Nick is interested in coaching for money? The reasons he left Alabama are still in play. His net worth is private, but an article in Forbes 6-8 months ago pegged his net worth nearing a $billion. His business partner is now a billionaire and Nick isn’t that far behind. That partnership, although the first dealership was in Baton Rouge, started in 2013 and had nothing to do with LSU. It had more to do with Nick’s then proximity to the Mercedes Benz plant. They are doing $2 billion a year in automotive sales and have branched into medical supplies and Kentucky bourbon.
The common lay person talking head I guess don’t realize what Coach does in his ‘spare ‘ time. But I grant you, 20-25mm isn’t an amount it would take for Nick to leave the GameDay set. Football has become a hobby, business is his main business now.

So the portal doesn't open untiil a new coach is hired? I thought it was when a coach was fired?
The old rule was there was a 30 day transfer window that started when the coach was either fired or retired. The new rule is a 15 day transfer window that starts 5 days after a new coach is hired. It's supposed to give the new coach time to re-recruit the current roster before they hit the portal. I wish we had that when Saban stepped down.

No, he wasn’t. BTW, he failed in the NFL because Quinn wanted him to run Shanahan's offense, not his own. Even with that , he was just a fall guy, not the real problem.
thanks, i don’t really keep up with the falcons, so i couldn’t remember if that was pre or post his first stint at bama.
