BREAKING LSU Firing Brian Kelly

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

How in the world can a State Governor have any kind of say much less a final say in a University’s hiring and firing practices for their Athletics program?

I’m not saying it’s a false account.

But it’s 2025 not 1925.

I was watching The Triple Option on YouTube with Mark Ingram and Urban Meyer. Meyer said he knew a couple of people in Louisiana so he reached out to them wondering about the validity of the claims about the governor. Said one of his contacts told him the governor had a lot of pull at LSU because he had either helped to appoint or had appointed 6 BOT members and was going to help another 4 get appointed at LSU and that yes in fact he did have that kinda pull as a result.

Lived in Louisiana for a number of years. Takes me back to the times of Edwin Edward’s…” The only way I can lose this election is to be caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy . “

Is there a college football coach who would not fail the “morals code” clause?
That should be on his agent to allow this addition into the contract.
Saban, for one. And I’d add DeBoer too. Not just saying this because they are and were our coaches, I just genuinely would be floored if it came out that one of them was sleeping around. And come to think of it I think most people don’t cheat on their wives.

We are talking about "moral code"….

Here is an example (also after he left Alabama) of Saban violating it:

That is why I am surprised that Kelly’s agent has allowed the “moral code” in the contract, since it could be widely interpreted term.

It's been covered elsewhere but according to AI ...

  • Recent Events: Governor Landry has been publicly involved in recent LSU controversies, including the firing of football coach Brian Kelly in October 2025. He hosted meetings to discuss Kelly's contract buyout and publicly commented on the search for a new coach.
  • Power Vacuums: The absence of a permanent LSU president, which was the case in late 2025, can increase the governor's direct influence as the board takes on more executive responsibility
  • LSU Presidency: The previous LSU president left in May 2025, so the position is currently being filled by an interim head. The LSU Board of Supervisors will make the final selection for the next president.
  • Governor's Influence: The Governor's office has the power to appoint members to the LSU Board of Supervisors, which is the body that ultimately chooses the next university president.
    • The LSU Board of Supervisors is responsible for hiring the university's president.
    • Since taking office in January 2024, Governor Landry has already appointed nine of the 18 board members, giving him strong influence over the board's composition.
    • With LSU currently having an interim president, Landry's influence over the board is amplifying his involvement in selecting the next permanent president.
  • Potential Negative Effects: Undue Political Influence and Loss of Autonomy: The primary concern is that increased political involvement can erode the university's institutional autonomy. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), LSU's accrediting body, requires its accredited institutions to be free from undue external influence.

The last point is the one they have to be careful about not violating. SACS could come in and hammer them. UNC almost lost their accreditation several years ago and was put on probation because of academic fraud involving their athletes.

So;a possible new coach has to deal with over paid prima donna teenagers, fans, boosters and , now; politicians. What could go wrong??

You can blame Karma Karma Kameleon Kelly for every misbegotten moment of shame and agita they're experiencing down theah. And Bazza, that should be Geaux Geauxvnah!
