Mac Jones Gets Win With 49ers

Mac is 2nd in the NFL in Passing YPG

He’s 8th in Comp %

He’s 16th in Passing TDs in 1-2 less games than other Starters.

He’s Solidly a Top 10 QB imo and should be a Starter whether it’s for SF or somebody else.

I’d give anything for him to be my teams QB.

The question is what systems (other than SF) work best for his game? I don't understand NFL offensive systems well enough to know that.

That might be a bit of a hot take

That's the problem isn't it? I'm like you I don't follow closely enough to have an answer but I do know that system matters. But a caveat: New England was not simply a mismatch between Mac's skill set and the offensive system. It was coaching malfeasance by Bill Belichick.

Drake Maye also looks like he might be on the way to joining that top 5-6 elite QBs in the NFL
Every time I hear "Drake Maye" I think what "might have been."

If he stays committed to Bama, it's possible Jalen Milroe never sees the field. You can put the pieces together of how it might have impacted us the last few years all the way up the ladder to CNS.

While it probably doesn't change the overall outcome (of CNS retiring) it might change the time frame and it's very possible there's another NC in the last 4 years.

We pretty much went all in on Milroe... I remember being sucked into the hype and then we played Texas... And it seemed like almost every catch was a circus catch because he was so inaccurate.

Not the best call frankly.

Didn't we get Bryce or something because of Maye decommitting? I can't remember.

As a Commanders fan I really really wanted Drake Maye. Thankfully I think we still got a good one in Jayden Daniels though (assuming he can get and stay healthy)

Bryce was c/o 2020

Maye & Milroe were both c/o 2021

Maye decommitted in March 2020, then Milroe committed in August 2020
