If Mac Jones has 25 or more pass attempts he will become eligible for the NCAA record book for career passer rating. QBs need 325 career attempts and he’s at 300. He will likely enter the list at #2 all time with a rating a little over 190.

Only one player ever has had a career QB rating over 185 - Tua. He’s at 199.4.

So after this weekend there’s a good chance Bama will have had the two most efficient QBs in the history of college football.

This should show all the young guns out there that we can be QB U too.

I am just blown away with Mac's Play. I wasn't a vocal critic of Mac, however I had my doubts to myself. When Crimson Audio said that he was going to really surprise some people this year, I just kinda chuckled to myself an said we'll see. I've been eating crow ever since.
I can unequivocally say that those of us Tidefans who knew Mac would be exceptional at QB when it came his turn had no idea that he would be as good as he has been. Very proud of Mac Jones.
I never really bought into the Bryce winning the job idea. Mac played really well last year and I figured if he was going to lose the job Bryce would have had to been playing at a level well above what Tua was doing his freshman year.

But man, I had no idea Mac would be the highest rated QB in college football by both traditional QB rating and PFF. I thought a Heisman invite seemed very possible but now it looks like he has a real shot at winning the thing.

I expected Mac to have a good year because I really liked what I saw from him last year after Tua was injured. Like you say, though, I didn't expect him to have a record setting year. He is playing at another level right now. I hope some of the young guys at WR can adequately take the place of Waddle. I doubt we have one guy who can, but I am hoping that between two or three of them that we will still be solid.

I don't think there is anyone that can replace him but am overwhelmingly confident that we have talent in the ranks ready to play their role to open up other options in this prolific offense.

My thinking wasn't that Mac was going to totally fail. I thought more of that he would be a good game manager with a pretty good arm and we would win just enough with a better defense. My hope was that he would mature into a AJ McCarron by seasons end. It did cross my mind that BY might come in at some point in the season if we were struggling to get enough offense going to try something different but I figured Saban would stick with Jones unless he completely self destructed. Still, I was way off base in my thinking.
