I've seen more goaltending calls this year than I can remember in recent seasons. Of course, some of that could be my memory.

We have had 2 against us in this game where the shot had zero chance of going in but it hit the backboard first so goaltending somehow

Another good win. Sloppy at times. We tend to play down to our competition against weaker SEC foes.

Everyone has 6 games to play in the next 3 weeks.

We are tied with several teams in 3rd place in the SEC race at 8-4 behind the Hogs at 9-3 and UF, who is setting the standard at 10-2.

It will be crucial to secure one of the top 4 spots before the SEC tournament in order to earn one of the 4 double byes.

Next game on Wed. we host the Hogs with the opportunity to tie them for 2nd place in the SEC.

We then have two winnable games against LSU and MSU before going on the road to UT (probably the toughest game left on the schedule), which is another separation game since they are currently tied with us at 8-4 and at Georgia.

We finish up with the barn coming for a visit. With them fading in the conference race, they'll have one thing on their mind: upsetting what we hope is some good momentum going in the SEC tourney!

More an observation than a complaint here: If this team could ever develop a true killer instinct instead of getting sloppy/cute in stretches we could be really hard to beat.
Good game last night overall.
The hustle and fight were there throughout most of the game.
Good win for us.

It seems when we get sloppy it comes in bunches instead of being spread out. It’s difficult, though, to get a bunch of young adults to stay focused the entirety of a game they know they should win. Good win and still some room for Coach to preach improvement.

Bethea would be the most logical candidate to replace Philon for next year... hope he can continue to work and get PT.

He can't really handle the ball in traffic very well, Holloway is going to be the main PG, and we will likely have to get a couple of ball handlers in the portal. Bethea is more of a 2-3 -- these two guys they have coming in from HS -- are 6'5" and 6'6" Shooting Guards -- so we need some ball handlers in the portal!

Considering CNO's desire for his point guard to get downhill and finish at the rim, JB is ideal. He "can" play PG in CNO's system.

And I don't think we want Holloway being consumed with ball handling. His ability to get to the rim is good, but he has trouble finishing with his size. We really want him shooting 3s as much as possible, IMO.

So, it could look like PG by committee OR we could find a new PG in the portal, as you said.

There with you… as terrific as Philon is at finishing at the rim, he’s not as good at passing as Sears was. Guys who are equally good at both are rare.
