Last night I took my son to see Tool live at State Farm arena in Atlanta. Right in front of us was a guy and his son from Gaston Alabama. Not sure if I have the town right. He turned around and asked how old I was and I told him 58, then he asked me the age of my son. He and his son were close in our age. He asked how long we had been Tool fans and I told him. He said, "You've raised your son right." We told him we were Georgia fans and chatted about football and mutual respect for both programs. We had a lot of fun with those two guys during the show. Lots of high-fives, it was like we were all kids again. Those boys had one heck of a drive home. I got in at 1am this morning, so God only knows when they hit the sack.

Ultimately we are all in this together.

Completely agree and I think Kobe's death kind of brings that to the forefront. It was interesting, because Danny Carey (Tool drummer) wore a Hawks uniform with the #24. At the end of the concert they did a tribute poster to Kobe, which I thought was fantastic.

It was funny, because sitting next to the two Bama guy's was a woman, clearly in her 50's, with her son next to her. She was rocking out and looked smoking hot for her age.

Cool! I suspect they had a hotel room somewhere. Gadsden is a good trek...down 20 about half way to Birmingham and turn right on 431 at Oxford/Anniston. Probably a little over 2-2.5 hours.

It was absolutely fantastic. I've seen well over 100 live performances in my lifetime and I'd easily put the Tool concert in the Top 3-5 best shows I've ever seen. The best part about it was sharing that experience with my son who appreciates them as much as I do.

No, they were headed back after the concert and the son had to be at work at 7:30am. He didn't care, I've never seen anyone with more energy than that kid. They were a super cool Father and son team... very friendly people.
