Mike Leach FIRED according to ESPN

Amazing. I really hope the guy is innocent. ESPN is fine with ignoring the fact that in America, you are innocent until proven guilty. Everything Ive seen or read that wasnt on ESPN has a very different perspective. The video from the local news in Lubbock was very telling.

I guess they thought Leach might win in court and be able to coach the game, so they just fired him to end that part of the battle.

Sounds like they were just looking for an excuse to fire him with cause before they owed the $800000.

So your thinking ESPN got him fired?

Not to worry if you're him. He'll land on his feet somewhere. He's basically the whole reason the Big 12 has become a passing conference.

I wouldn't want to be Adam James, if he plans on staying on the team; I don't think he will, though. I don't think he has the guts for what would come his way.

LOL several Darwin Awards should be handed out over this. :)

Yeah. The rest of the team should go Full Metal Jacket on his butt the night before bowl game. Soap, socks an all. ;)

I think ESPN and his father who is a reporter there put tremendous pressure on Texas Tech. Do you believe there has been enough time to uncover all facts on the issue to make the decision to fire him? Suspending him is one thing, firing him is another.

I just graduated from Tech and both of the James kids have to transfer b/c the student body LOVES Coach Leach. Unless they want to be a pariah for the rest of their college career, they'll get out of Lubbock. It's sad for them b/c of friends and all that, but that's the reality they'll face.

I think TT has been begging for a reason to fire Leach for a while now. I can't understand why. He's the best football coach in their history and has actually made their program relevant.

I'd like to know exactly what caused all the bad blood between Leach and the TT administration.
