Isn't it Moochelle's fault, if many students opt to go hungry? BTW, who counts Moochelle's calories. How do we know she doesn't cheat? Hmm ...

Complaints Mount Against Michelle Obama’s New Lunch Menu

In Wisconsin, high school athletes are complaining about not getting enough to eat each day, due to the skimpy new school lunch menu mandated by the United States Department of Agriculture and First Lady Michelle Obama.

The story we published earlier this week on that subject is unfortunately not unique. Students across the country are complaining about the new school lunch regulations.

Perhaps the real motive is to starve students into slimming down. Just ask students in Pierre, South Dakota who, too, are in an all-out revolt.
"

I know a lot of my friends who are just drinking a jug of milk for their lunch. And they are not getting a proper meal," middle school student Samantha Gortmaker told
Keloland.com.

Despite the fact that the new regulations have increased the cost of a lunch 20 to 25 cents per plate, it’s not pleasing students.

Some are throwing away their vegetables while others are adapting to the rules by becoming industrious. In New Bedford, Massachusetts, students have created a black market - for chocolate syrup. The kiddie capitalists are smuggling in bottles of it and selling it by the squeeze, according to
SouthCoastToday.com.

Nancy Carvalho, director of food services for New Bedford Public Schools, was quoted as saying that hummus and black bean salads have been tough sells in elementary cafeterias. That means even smaller children are going through the day fighting hunger pains, which can never be considered a good thing.

Moochelle oughta practice the crap she spews between bites. Ho beeps when she backs up and they won't let her sit in a window seat on Air Force One to keep from flying in circles.

This video will go "viral" on social media. Obama ain't cool no mo!

Though most h.s. students can't vote, they're making fun of government interference, i.e., Obama through Moochelle. The attitude of these students will perculate up to older students and young adults. Stick a fork in Obummer!

Students Ask, "Why Should We Pay For Obese's Problems?"

N.J. High School Students Planning Cafeteria Boycott To Protest Obama Guidelines

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Students at Parsippany Hills High School held a strategy session on Thursday to discuss a potential lunch strike, on Friday, over what they have called inadequately sized meals.

“This year you’re eating lunch and you’re like ‘Did I even eat?’ You’re not even full,” senior Brandon Faris told CBS 2′s Derricke Dennis.

New federal guidelines stemming from first lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign have resulted in limits on protein and bread, and an increase in vegetables and fruits. The changes have also come at an increased cost.

All of it has also sparked a student campaign that has included online parody videos of students falling sleep in class and performing sluggishly in sports.

They hope to further their efforts with a cafeteria boycott that will cost the school money, and students like Faris said they want to know why they are paying the pricefor other people’s problems.

“If somebody’s obese why should someone like me who’s not obese have to suffer, and eat a small meal when I’d rather have a bigger meal?” he said.

Re: Students Ask, "Why Should We Pay For Obese's Problems?"

My kids started taking their lunches to school. Among the reasons? The food has become gross (for the most part) and the handful of things they like have noticeably smaller portions.

Personally I have a problem that what should be the provenance for the people elected and/or employed locally (Allen ISD Administrators and the Allen ISD School Board) has been nationalized with a one size fits all solution from the Department of Agriculture.

You think that an article about cafeteria food deserves a point by point rebuttal? That's kind of embarrassing.
I think all encompassing rules developed by bureaucrats in Washington DC that trample on what should properly be a decision made by a local authority (school board, school district, state level department of education, etc) to be authoritarian and stupid. That you do not realize that to be the larger issue is embarrassing.

In a world with economic crisis, war, famine, and poverty. You're big hang up is some side project from the first lady about school lunch food. I think someone's priorities are just a we bit out of whack.

With economic crisis, war, famine and poverty, how can we possibly have time for "side projects"?

School lunches must meet Federal nutrition requirements, but decisions about what specific foods to serve and how they are prepared are made by local school food authorities.
USDA does not require schools to serve -- or not serve -- any particular foods. School meals must meet Federal nutrition requirements, but decisions about what foods to serve and how they are prepared are made by local school food authorities.

What? You think Mrs.Obama sat in the White House and wrote lunch menus?

Thee federal government has given us a great solution to a problem that does not exist and, in true big government fashion, it is generating an enormous amount of waste and will not actually solve the "problem" it was intended to address. Frankly Shortround I love it. It is one more visible example of what happens when you let Washington DC run things, cuz they know best. And by the way, they did all this and the price of lunch actually went up. So we have smaller portions of food, more of which is being thrown away.....and we are paying more for it.

And if you do not see how this is affecting poor folk or wasting tax money needlessly or how it mocks famine elsewhere by throwing away food, then that is embarrassing.
