moore seems to be struggling so far this year. last year he k'd 26 out about 200 abs. this year 10 k's in about 50 abs so far. base on balls are actually up as a percentage. we need him to be productive for the tide to be better. and before everybody starts on the coaches he had the same ones last year as this year when he had a great year. mentally moore just doesn't seem to be in a good place at the plate. smith had a similar year last year after a good freshman start so i believe moore can turn it around.
if moore can turn the corner, if roberts can improve his production (k's are way down), if booth can continue his improved ways, if wass is able to come back an contribute, is smith continues to improve, if white and overstreet play steady defense with a little more timely production at the plate, if salem continues to improve as a leadoff hitter and if blanchard can learn to be a little more under control at the plate (he is probably the tides best chance all around especially with millers arm hurt).
some might not like the above lineup but it looks like thats where the tide is headed. i hope they all improve to the point that we can become a team that can win games in the sec, i think we will.
about this time every year reality sits in on some and the frustration gets turned to the coaches and other players. if your favorite is starting congratulations and good luck. if your favorite is not starting the he needs to fill a role to help this team win games and he needs to be ready just in case. as an example - roberts and booth have handled changes that were thrown at them when wass got hurt, they have both shown improvement over last year. however nobody has been inclined to tyake the dh role.
i hope for improvement and best wishes to all. rtr
