I've noticed several articles in the news and talking heads on T.V. trying to inform the public on fact and fiction about health care reform.

All of the fact vs fiction stories overlook the biggest and most important points. The fact remains that:

The Federal Government has NO success stories to tell when it comes to ANY government social/welfare programs.

WE CANNOT AFFORD WHAT WE HAVE, WE CANNOT AFFORD THIS EITHER, WE ARE CRIPPLING THIS COUNTRY WITH DEBT.

We fear the loss of our liberty and freedom, and big government is our ENEMY not our friend.

All true, of course.

However, in the view of the left, item #1 is of little import, and item #2 is completely the opposite.

Jax, I agree with you completely. My biggest fear is that they're going to cool off on it for a few months, hoping the "outrage" will pass, then sneak it in on us when we're not looking. They simply need to go back to the drawing board and recognize that what they propose will sink us. Fix that which is broken; do not create something new and financially unsupportable.:mad2:

And thanks for that video, buzz. Mr. Rogers is 100% correct on all counts.

Actually, health care reform is very critical and needs to be done pretty quickly. But not like they're saying. The reform needed is a way to prevent Medicare from consuming the entire federal budget (and then some) as the baby boomers continue to age. Without reform, this is what is going to happen. It is an inevitability, not a prediction, and it will be coming to pass around 2020 or so.

Bamabuzzard,

I agree with everything that Mike Rogers said.

JaxFan,

I also agree completely with you. If you want to screw something up all you gotta do is let the Federal Government take care of it!

I heard a talking head yesterday state that the FDIC has $10 Billion to back up $3+ trillion in our savings. That does not make you feel good about our future. That makes you want to go to banks, withdraw your accounts before everyone else does and bury it in the backyard in a tin can. However, the $$$'s would probably be as worthless as Confederate money.

I really hate to talk gloom and doom, but that's about all I see in this nation's future. I'm so sad for our descendants!

What needs to happen is the gov't stop giving our hard earned taxed money to people who just stepped off the boat three days ago.
I'm sorry, you shouldn't come to this country looking for a handout, you should come looking to make something of yourself for whatever reason you left your home country. A person 65 or older shouldn't automatically qualify for medicare, medicaid, and SS checks every month. They or their spouse should have had to work for no less than 10 to 15 years, LEGALLY (paying taxes), before asking for money from us.
As for Americans, certified bank statements should be reviewed before giving out money and aid will be distributed based on your income and savings information.

I agree. The reform is not as complicated as some make it to be. Everyone knows what needs to be fixed. The lobbyist and special interest just will not ever let it happen. The bills being proposed are being written by these lobbyist and will make our system worse, not better. If our system is a financial burden now, it would be financially impossible with the passage of one of these bills and none of the real problems in healthcare will even be addressed.

I think that the American people are onto it though. I think that delay will just allow more people to become informed. this is not good for the dems. I do not doubt that they realize this and go nuclear. They will try to bypass the American people and do what they think is best for us. this will be "nuclear" for them in 2010 though. Obama needs some kind of national tradgedy to get this under the radar.

Good post. This is one of the most glaring parts of our system that needs to be addressed. This is where reform should start. It is not even being considered though.
