When my father had quadruple bypass surgery, his surgeon told him that he might have bought my father 15 years. That surgery was done in 1999. So I am very grateful for all the time I got with my father, especially after his bypass surgery.
He has been in hospice for the past week leading up to his death. To see my dad wither away has been heartbreaking. My father was 6'2 225 in his prime but at the time of his death, he weigh under 110 lbs.
My father got to meet one of his great granddaughters, when his daughter and granddaughter came to visit recently but the regret is that he won't get to meet his other great granddaughter through his oldest grandson.
My parents were married for over 50 years. My mother is not handling my father's passing well, so I definitely keeping an eye on her.
