Very true, but I have no reason to think the PIs will get called since they haven't been all season. UT has good DBs that can cling onto JJ too. I just meant that single covering JJ isn't going to kill UT in and of itself. I do think it is something we could exploit if JJ plays like he did at the end against AU or if we get some of the PI calls we haven't been getting.
Im hoping for better out of the BE officials...

I've been wondering about this all season. Were the PI non-calls a conscious decision by the officials/NCAA to "let 'em play"? It has been awful against Julio this year, but in general I've noticed fewer and fewer getting called.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

Peterson was holding or committing PI on every play...
It sure seems he is not the only one who gets away with it on JJ. I guess until they ACTUALLY call PI they will continue to do so.
I also am amazed that every time JJ gets loose it seems there is always a foot tangle and he goes tumbling down...... At some point the ref's have to call PI on that crap as well.. Here is hoping the BE has decent officiating because IF they play JJ straight up with no help texas does not posess a cover corner good enough to lock him down but then again NO ONE in the country does not even BAMA....

I completely agree; the play in the endzone where the safety ran right into JJ not being called was disgraceful (I think that was the LSU game). Like 504, I meant that until the PI's are called, UT will be able to get away with single covering him like LSU did.

I think it comes from the idea that JJ is a big WR so there will always be a little contact so the officials let "both" players bump some. The officials in the SEC let it get way out of hand against JJ. IMHO (and I hate saying this b/c I don't like flops), but I think JJ might have to 'sell' the PI more to get the officials aware of it.

You'd go after the QB a lot more against a pass heavy team than a run heavy team wouldn't you? So being sacked more per play isn't really that telling of a stat unless the teams have equal strengths. YOu better believe we are stopping bama's run first... just like bama will stop Texas's pass first.

Yes, and that makes the sack count per passing attempt more revealing. Somebody broke that down, I think, way back in the thread...

Yeah, I think the only thing left to analyze is which team has the better looking cheerleaders and I must say growing up/living in Texas, I'd give UT the edge here...

LOL........ Yea there is not much left to analyze on this thread but I did not look very deep into their Special teams especially since their best return man JUST HAPPENED to get let off of a DWI/DUI (whatever they call it) just in time for the NC game... Boy what a lucky break for him and how ironic??????? NCAA should be checking into that one as well, I am not worried I think we fixed our KO coverage pretty well but it goes to show you some teams and/or legal systems (judges who might just be ut grads??)will go to NO ENDS to try and beat us...
