No where is there a more arrogant, self-absorbed fan base than texas. They look down their nose at not just OU and A&M, but everyone. They believe they "invented" the game of football. They drove Arky out of the SEC with the "we're texas", and Arky you ain't nothing crap. It gets old.

Bama will win this game comfortably. texas is two feet or one second away from not even playing this game. 31-13 Bama!!!

You know before I read some of these texas posters crap I USED to like them.......
Don't let a few posters represent the whole fanbase...

That's how i feel about you inbreds! Joking, it will be a great game and I like this site...please don't ban me!
You might want to edit your previous statement before the mods see it because you are well on your way out the door...

Just like all fans (including visitors of bulletin boards) there are some who argue logically and some who go too far. Texas fans are good fans. I think these two programs are both great with great fan bases. This is so much more fun than if we were playing Florida. Glad you guys beat them.

Well your buddy is most certainly gonna get this thread locked but in the end pretty much all has been said that can be. Both sides think they have a defense the other cannot stop and an offense that will do whatever it wants...

I just don't look at games the same as most people since I coach my sons team and have been for the last 4 years I learned my first year that video evidence is the only way to evaluate a team's tendencies and weakness. I have been critical of BAMA on numerous occassions but the last 5 games the list grew smaller and my 3 things just went to pot. Our last game the only negative was we let them score any points at all but hey one can dream~!~
What I see in both teams is a difference in offensive philosophy dictated by its personnel. Texas living in the Big12 adapted with VY and was lucky enough to have the personnel in place for McCoy to continue without having to recruit the talent in..
Bama is the EXACT same way, Coach Saban is and has always been a balance and finish every play guy with a taste for one nasty defense and 2 RB's who punish the front 7.
My only hope is we don't actually have any stupidity between now and gametime because we all know and see what can happen in trying to replace a cog in the wheel~!~

You may not have liked them after what I read about your post on Hornsfan.com or whatever it is. They posted this post on there, and they were lighting you up. They said you picked cotton and raised turnips as your profession and that you should stick to it. I kinda lost respect for some Texas fans after that comment.

504 I'm not responsible for what's posted on other boards, but we have our share of knuckleheads as everyone does. While I enjoy this board and getting Alabama's perspective, I've read some things on here about Texas that made my jaw drop. I try to keep away from that kind of stuff and stick to reading posters like you.

One thing you've said that I do disagree with is your assessment of our defense. I suspect it is better than being the 4th or 5th best defense the Tide will have seen this year. I won't go into specifics, but I would cite Ed Cunningham who picked Bama to win but by the barest of margins, because he loves Texas' defense. We'll see, of course.

I like your comments about a player doing something stupid between now and game day. One of the reasons we've had issues on the offensive line is we lost a real promising young guy to PS (Player Stupidity) last year. We sure could use him now. I hope both teams go into the game at full strength.

I do too, full man crush. They have played absolutely lights out all year besides A&M (did they even show up)
don't know if you know about this site but the highlights feature a ton of defensive clips. The energy and nastyness they play with is so much fun to watch, not to mention they get their hands on more passes than the opposing team it seems like.

Texas Longhorns Video Archive

off to waste more time re watching those games... I heart muschamp and the defense lol

LMAO....... Guess being retired military I deserved that one from them..... Oh well you can't please everyone and I knew these guys coming here were taking our post back to their site they all do it. It seems every game we play like one said before we get a bunch of opposition visitors coming in saying they want to talk CFB and when we don't bow down and praise their team they start with the history or what have you done for me crap.
Not sure how many of them know about BAMA fans but we are so well versed in defending ourselves you better have your crap together because we KNOW our history and are used to fighting with teams who just hate our guts.
Funny thing is I do not and will not ever visit an opponents web-site because it is pointless. What are you going to do talk them into becoming BAMA fans?? Not likely and more often than not you get blasted and ran off even if you are just talking football.
Now I have visited some sites likey cockytalk or something like that but only because we had some very cool USC posters and they asked me to go over and I have been on an SEC site (no name mention) and been in some absolute wars with lswho fans who just could not accept the truth or facts but hey everyone likes to talk smack just not here~!~ RTR~!~

Thats okay I get blasted from my own people on here every now and then so no biggie.

As far as the defense I sort of like our defense as well. It was not meant to be dis-respectful but I based it mainly off the fact that you were in a pass happy conference and sure your INT's would be higher but what happens when you have to play teams who have a solid run game and a solid passing attack. What if you cannot stop the run in a base defense and you are forced to bring extra people up in the box??
This to me is going to be a huge deciding factor in the game because if we cannot run and force you to stop it then we become one dimensional but if you watch our last 5 games you will see CNS has opened the playbook or gave CJM the thumbs up to really start attacking teams and making them back off or force them into man coverage. The un-sung hero for me is Maze, Hanks and Peek. Since everyone turns to JJ with double and sometimes triple coverage they have stepped up their game and really made our offense start to click. So now what you have seen really since the lswho game is a 2 headed monster willing to attack you through the air and ground both pretty effectively. ( except the barn game but I firmly beleive CNS was trying to wear them down since they have no depth, it is the only reason I can see why we kept trying to pound the rock when they had 10 guys in the box all game long. The last drive was what we should of been doing from the opening KO but for some reason we stuck with what was probably our worst gameplan all year).
No matter who you pull for in this game it should be a very good game and both defenses will have their hands full but for me the difference in the two teams is our OL seems to be performing at a higher level and able to pass and run block very well in most cases. Our LT has his moments but for a 1st year starter stepping into the premier OL position he has played better than I would have ever hoped for and the OL overrall has exceeded I think just about everyones expectations here at BAMA~!~ :pDT_orctrinque:

#2 Texas is the team that has recent National Championship...undefeated seasons..., etc, not Bama. Sure, you've done it this year but what about the big games in the past 17 years or even last year? Texas fans have reason to feel that we have just as good (or better) a team than Bama.
You have got to be kidding right? Your point is that we haven't had any success since 1992? This coming from a Texas fan whose school has won 2 NCs since 1970? Please.

...We can't help it that the best players in the nation come from the state of Texas, and that the best high school coaches and players are in Texas. We don't have to get players from Flint, we find them at home!
Given all of that, how is it that you have the same number of national championships as Alabama in the last 17 years? You should be pretty disappointed... :conf3:

My thoughts exactly.

Seems to me there is more unfulfilled potential in the state of Texas than any other state in the country - if we are to believe the best high school coaches and players reside there.:rolleye2:

The difference is that you have played 1 team that is "GOOD" and TCU is the best team in Texas. biggrin:
We get players from all over the U.S. Just good buisness, but plenty of down home boys on our roster. I guess youve watch a little to much Friday Night Lights. (thats not real by the way) Lets just see what that young man from Flint does against your SUPERSTAR Texas Hogmollies. We have a Texan at QB that I would like to introduce you to also.

So Texas had a close win vs Nebraska...what is your point. bama has played close games vs Tennessee ( who sucks ) and Auburn ( who sucks ) How is that any different from playing close games vs Nebraska and ou ( who suck )? Both teams have had moments where they didn't look very good. But they are both undefeated, and it will be a great game.

Also Texas didn't run Arkansas out of the SWC, they left for more money. Had nothing to do with "we're Texas" We can't help it that the best players in the nation come from the state of Texas, and that the best high school coaches and players are in Texas. We don't have to get players from Flint, we find them at home!
Wow. Just WOW. So many ignorant things in this post to choose from, but I'll only take one point. Your team has a terrible running game and you criticize us for recruiting a running back from MI? I guess if we had a running back from texas we'd have great running game - Oh wait...

You are from Texas and you want to talk about social steriotypes. Thats even more bravado than pretending your team is not the second best team in Texas. I'll go back to picking cotton and raising turnips until after the game. Perhaps you should go back behind the local Lowe's and wait for your next job. Then again in Northern Mexico futbol is soccer and in that you guys might win. No hablo espanol.:p ,-- Oh yeah, j/k <--because that makes it better. This is the absolute nicest thing I could say about Texas in dealing with steriotypes. We were talking football and I like Texas and Texans, but what you stated was rude and unethical. I guess you couldn't win a statistical or otherwise argument for your team so you had to resort to this garbage.

On a side note, I went home because of the familiarity of your post. Luke 6:41-42 I always seem to have the beam in my eye.
ok; I predict this thread will be locked very soon.... But; I live in Dallas, TX love Bama football and have been taking my kids to games in T Town for over 16 years! My oldest daughter is going to Bama next year. We love Dallas and quite frankly other than the 100 degree summer days... would NOT leave unless forced to do so. Your sterotypes of Texans is way off base. As Texas fans have no place sterotyping Alabama fans and the state of Alabama; we as Bama fans should not do the same... EACH state has its own merit--- lets just leave it at that

We don't run the ball and yal can't throw it!

We cant throw it, have you watched us play. It may not be texas tech, but we throw if and when we need to. We're pretty balanced. If an opponent stops one aspect of our game they better watch out for our other hand. We will fake you with the right hand and knock you out with the left hand.:BigA:
