I actually agree with most of what you say. Colt has the experience edge and is probably the better overall athlete. However I would argue 2 advantages Greg does have. Colt has never played a whole season facing the quality of defenses Greg faced week in week out this year. I'd also argue that Colt has never played on bigger stage than Greg did last weekend. That game may have had more hype than Jan 7th will because the majority of the country felt like whoever won that game will win the NC.OH my.. where to start.
So.. a first year starter wants it more than a 5th year senior, who has worked his way up from an unheralded high school kid taken as an afterthought?.. a 5th year senior who has put on 30 pounds of muscle... has studied hours and hours of game film... has steadily developed over this time in Austin... has led 4th quarter come back victories over Oklahoma last year and this year... over Ohio State... who has set the NCAA record for most victories... who in the past 2 years is 25 - 1... who has been on the big stage and excelled..again.. and again.. and again...
As for turning in a "tebow like performance..." let's see.. Tebow has fewer yards passing than Colt.. fewer victories.. fewer passing touchdowns...
You go to 120 college football coaches and asked them if they preferred Colt right now or your quarterback right now... would there by fewer than 2 who would say your QB?
You have an outstanding team.. of that there is no dispute.
But... come now.
