we already know that KW is all but gone to the league (as much as i'd like him to stay i think it would be crazy for him to come back next season).

there is some serious concerns over several other prospects as well
Chuck D, R. Hendrix, and R. George are all likely high NBA picks as well
we could actually lose 4 players to the "league" and that is scary.

CD is arguablly one of the most polished big men in the nation (thanks for the hype Majerus)
RH is one of the most if not THE most dominant big man in HS ball and with MCD's all-star et al his stock will skyrocket.
RG is THE best player in JUCO at any position.

it will be tough to hold on to these guys although RH seems to want to experience college life.

we will be in a mad scramble and we have to hope that CMG has a plan as i'm sure he does (he had to see it coming long before me)

projected line up w/o these guys:
pg Steele
sg Weber
SF Felix
PF Brock - (Adkins should have stayed)
C Davidson

although a very athletic starting 5 depth would give us fits

Nba

I would hope that KW would research his draft status before jumping. If he is a legit lottery or mid 1st rd. pick, then he'll go. Look at what has happened to Rod Grizzard and even Mario Austin when they left after 3 years. Hopefully, our guys will have better heads on their shoulders.

Yep sometimes it's just not worth a year of big cash and never playing again. hopefully he'll make the right choice

It would take a final four run to lose Davis and I wouldn't count Winston gone yet. He is telling people he will probably stay. (I know it is too early to be talking about this)

I think that Shelton will get a good look from the NBA because of his shooting range, but I really expect all the rest of our other present players to be back. KW needs to show that he can be a 2 guard at that level.

Davis won't be playing the 4 in the NBA. He needs work on his outside game.

KW needs to work on his ballhandling and passing, imo.

I think Shelton will have a rough go of it in the NBA. There aren't many spots for pure shooters anymore.

I doubt it...

Shelton will have to learn how to play defense and develop genetics that he currently doesn't have to make him much, much faster.

Davis has to put on weight before he goes or he will sit on a bench until he starts drinking protein shakes.

KW needs consistency before he will crack the first round (especially on defense)

If your are not absolutely GUARANTEED a first round pick as an underclassmen the risk is simply too great. SEE ROD

I think they will all stay and dominate 06, hell they may dominate this year if they get firing on all cylinders.

Yep...or Shea Cotton...

KW needs to stay...I think he'll have some success in the NBA (as I think will Shelton) but I think even KW will see how special this time could be next year with all the pieces in place.

The Bama players who have left early certainly had mixed results.

Ennis Whatley got some PT in the NBA, but never achieved what many expected him to do. Another year in college might have given him the maturity to have made bertterpersonal decisions.

Derrick McKey and Antonio McDyess certainly made good decisions.

Rod made a big time mistake, IMO.

Mo Williams certainly proved me wrong. I thought that he needed one more year.

I thought at one time that GW would have benefitted by another year of college, but he has now had several years to work on his perimeter game, but it is still ugly. He has great speed and great hops, but is far from a complete player.

You guys have made excellent points about why our current players should stay. I haven't seen George so I can't speculate about his chances. Hendrix right now is a tweener. If he is drafted as a power forward he is small for the position by NBA standards, and if he is drafted as a three his perimeter game isn't ready. All t and if he is drafted as a three his perimeter game isn't ready. All the guys we have been talking about are very good college players, but that doesn't always translate into success at the NBA level.

I don't think the worst case scenario will happen (all 4 going to the NBA), however, I do think at least 2 will go.... who that is i don't know. I guess the bright side in all of this is that CMG is recruiting the right kind of players to sustain Alabama as a great basketball school.

Chuck is NOT going to be high draft pick. He is very undersized..Hes not going to come out! Hedrix does concern me though! But in the end I believe he comes to Bama. George won't make the jump. Not too many guards have made the jump from JUCO to the NBA. It is usually fowards and post players making that jump! I do however agree that KW is gone!

I think if anybody goes its Winston and Hendrix.I think the starters next year are Davidson,Davis,Winston,Felix and Steele.

Weber might be the other starter instead of Felix. I think it could depend on match ups and obviously on who progresses the most between now and then. Brock will still get plenty of minutes, and newcomers Hendrix, George and Gee all figure to play.

I'm thinking it could be Felix, but at the 3, not the 2.........Winston moves to the 2 spot, but he needs to work on his jumper too.......
