Have read all the comics previously and loved the first episode. Stayed very true to the source material for the most part. If they stick with that it should do well. Very character driven story, less about the zombies and more about people living with the hard decisions they have to make to survive.

that is exactly what I liked about it. I liked the one character that couldn't bring himself to kill his zombie wife. it has always bothered me in zombie movies how as soon as someone becomes a zombie; the people with that person just easily kill the zombie that was once a person they cared about. I believe I would have a hard time with something like that and I liked how they had a charater who couldn't do it, even though he knows he probably should for the safety of himself and his son.

I tried entering the contest to be a zombie on the show but I didn't enter fast enough.

I think he also kind of decided to do it after seeing Rick saying he couldn't leave his former colleague walking around like that as well. But had a much harder time going through with it.

If it sticks with the comic books even remotely closely there are a ton of awful, awful decisions and things done in the name of survival. Not giving away spoilers, but its definitely good morality and sanity issues to deal with.

I was worried that the main character wouldn't be able to pull off the acting that comes with the Rick character, but I think he'll do well after the first episode.

I'm not the biggest sci-fi guy in the world, and I don't know how long you can milk a zombie apocolypse, but I enjoyed it. I intend to watch until it gets lame.

Slow zombies > Fast zombies.

Have always preferred that, fast ones can make for some intense scenes, and I enjoy the movies with them... but its the inevitable downfall from the slow ones that calls to me more. It also makes more sense to me that after deteriorating they wouldn't be able to run. Granted if you're talking about dead people getting up and walking I don't guess the science of whether they could run or not should be a big deal, lol.

Im just hoping it doesn't become "lost" like.

The source material is really good, if it stays anything like that it'll be an okay. Just to give you an idea of how much there is to work with, that first episode was about 1/3rd of the first trade paperback, and there's 12 trade paperbacks out now with more coming out every few months.

I agree regarding the science aspect of it. I actually think that there is a book out now about the science behind zombies. I think the intricacies of the science actually should be glossed over, but I also think some of the basic stuff, e.g. the point of targeting the head must be addressed somehow.

Along with this basic level of science, I think the idea that a virus mutates/evolves in order to better ensure its survival should be included, which is why I prefer the advancements in the zombies' predatory skills.

I would love it if the zombie-causing virus mutated over the course of the show, taking full advantage of a multi-season (hopefully) format. Mutations in at least a strain of the virus leading to a more lethal group of zombies would really liven up a subsequent season. Maybe even a faction of zombies with some level of higher brain function, which would bring in even more of the human aspects of the show, would be cool (e.g. like those in the Fallout video games).

I dunno. I just hope they take some liberties in the show and do some exploring of what might happen in such a universe.

I don't know anything about the story like others seem to, but some of the zombies seem more alert. Like that one in the city they kept showing. The one in the city that I think was wearing a suit with long hair and was staring and standing back watching him.

I'm not big on scary movies at all. Not a fan of gore, so as much as I know this is hypocritical, I've always been a fan of Zombie movies.

Very impressed with the first episode and can't wait to watch the second one tonight.

The sheriff’s wife needs to die! His old partner needs to die too! It seems like they were hooking up long before a zombie apocalypse. Even if she thinks her husband has been dead, it still seems slutty to hop into bed with the guys partner? I am not sure of the elapsed time since the zombie apocalypse, but it could not have been too long. Plus wouldn't caring for your son be higher on a mother's list of priorities than getting your freak on? I am sorry but this part of the storyline really bothers me. This part seems a little sleazy.

Werent they breaking up already? From the previews looks like he finds her next week.I love the show, finally something different to watch beside a half dozen CSI shows(who else here hates csi:miami!) or ER shows or lawyer shows.

My wife and I thought the same thing. Their hookup didn't seem like one of those where they were both in a vulnerable state from the shock of the situation. It seemed like it had been going on for a while. And I'm with you in light of everything going on, it seemed super sleazy.

Hittin' it from the back while zombie's may or may not be stalking through the woods, while your son is alone and scared with strangers during a zombie apocalypse? The whole scenario was a stretch and I hope they both get bitten.

That sounds more like a vampire movie, zombies EAT you.Im thinking the Bf and the ex get it and the man and his son ride off happily ever after into the sunlight ...and go play some ball.

They also bite/scratch you. That's how you become a zombie. Never seen a zombie movie?
