7 of 12 SEC teams in the Top-25 and 2 in the Top-3 seems pretty damn good.
Bet ya they start appearing as the season gets closer based on "great" recruiting and their star qb looking better than anticipated.TCU and South Florida.
But on a happy note, at least ND isn't anywhere to be seen.
Well you know how it works... As soon as ND goes 0-3 to start the season they will be ranked in the top 10.TCU and South Florida.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner!:BigA: Post of the day.*****:biggrin:I wonder if Coach Saban's blowing off of his interview with Mandel had anything to do with us not being in his Top 30.
Yeah...you gotta love it when a team loses nearly all their point scorers and still gets ranked as one of the best teams in the nation. I seem to remember a team very similar to that one...oh yeah...that was us in 2000. Maybe history will repeat itself.Typical SI bs.LSU #2?
It ain't about who is gone, it's about who is back, amigo. With much talent returning and a favorable schedule with all five ranked opponents at home . . . I think it's mistake to underestimate LSU this year.Yeah...you gotta love it when a team loses nearly all their point scorers and still gets ranked as one of the best teams in the nation.

I would double-check those stats, too. According to NCAA.com scoring data, LSU lost 5 players (Bowe, Davis, Jackson, Gaudet, and Russell) who scored 118 points last year. LSU returns 11 players (David, Doucet, Hester, Scott, Williams, Brousssard, Flynn, LaFell, Holiday, Jordan and Zenon) who scored 320 points.
In the last five years, LSU's national total defense ranking has been #8, #1, #3, #3, and #3. This years defense is almost as good as 2003 and I expect a fifth straight top-3 ranking.
LSU must play two top-10 teams, of course, and will not find it easy to get back to the SECCG. But they have finished in the top-5 for two straight years and have earned their pre-season ranking, I think.
Yeah...we said the same thing in 2000...we were returning pre-season All Americans and pretty much everyone on the team...other than the ones that constantly won games for us. I'm not saying y'all won't be good...I'm just questioning the #2 ranking...that's all.It ain't about who is gone, it's about who is back, amigo.
