I was in Tuscaloosa today seeing a few customers. I always drive by the stadium on my way out to town. I wouldn’t have thought it would be the last time I saw BDS with him still the Coach.
Edit: I had lunch at Baumhower’s at the bar. I was sitting by a blonde guy with a visor and shades on. He introduced himself as Joey Freshwater. 😀

In shock but so glad I got to witness and be apart of the greatest coach to ever do it! Roll Tide forever Coach Saban!

Kind of sums it up for me. I`ve always felt privileged to have witnessed two golden ages of Alabama football. The two greatest in the history of the game! God bless, Coach Saban, and thank you!!

It is funny, this would have really bothered me 5 or so years ago. But the game has changed so much it isn't even the same sport. I am not surprised coach was done with it in this capacity. What a great run! Roll Tide Coach!

How I found out. I was in my home office, working as usual. My daughter had picked up my granddaughter that my wife was watching about 15 minutes before. Out of nowhere, my daughter calls my wife's cell phone, and I can hear her yelling, "get Dad, get Dad". I'm thinking she had a wreck or something, but when my wife brings me her phone, my daughter says "is Coach Saban really retiring". I couldn't believe it, but it was true. Happy trails Coach.

He did it the right way--secured the #2 recruiting class, waited for the portal to close so the replacement has time to win over the team and let the Champs have the spotlight alone for a while--just wish he could have gone with new hardware in addition to SEC championship trophy but we can say we've seen and lived the best of times for Bama football.
