The Crimson Tide bullpen supplied 4.2 scoreless innings in the loss

4/18/2025

BATON ROUGE, LA –
No. 15 Alabama baseball brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth, though the comeback attempt fell just short as the Crimson Tide was defeated 4-3 by No. 9 LSU at Alex Box Stadium on Friday. The loss moves Alabama to 30-10 overall and 8-9 in Southeastern Conference play.

Kade Snell continued his weekend success, going 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored. Bryce Fowler produced a 2-for-4 line as well, including a double, a walk and two runs. Richie Bonomolo Jr. was 1-for-3 with two walks and an RBI, while Justin Lebroncollected a double in his five at-bats.

Riley Quick (5-2) made his ninth start of the spring and was responsible for four earned runs on eight hits to go with one walk and three strikeouts across his 3.1 innings. Braylon Myers was superb out of the Tide bullpen, covering 3.2 scoreless innings while notching six strikeouts. Coulson Buchanan picked up a strikeout in a scoreless eighth, stranding the bases loaded.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn

"To beat a top ten team in the country at their place, you have to come out and play good baseball. We did some great things tonight. Riley (Quick) battled his tail off, Braylon (Myers) was outstanding for us and (Coulson) Buchanan gave us a chance at the end. We let an elite arm off the hook early then he settled in and was tough. We simply weren't clean in the third (inning). We took great at-bats off (Zac) Cowan and gave ourselves a chance at the end but couldn't quite get it done. I love the fight and I love the toughness. We just need to come out and play a clean game of baseball tomorrow. I told these guys coming in that 'fortune favors the bold'. We need to live that tomorrow, myself included. We will come out ready to send it tomorrow afternoon."
