Noting Some Positives from VT Game

Hard for me to believe Coach would mention DT's knee and not Vogler's hand. Anyway, with modern casting, we haven't had a player miss a game with a broken hand for a long time. Even Julio played with a broken metatarsal...

I know everyone is down on the O-line. They certainly made some mistakes, but I believe it is very correctable. I watched the game again this past Sunday and noted once we got a huge lead VT almost always had 8 guys in the box. This makes it very difficult for the O-line, especially when the other team has a very good front 7. It is true we could have thrown it more, but in considering Saban playing against other Hall of Fame coaches, I don't believe he likes to run up the score against them. He has too much respect for them to do that. I thought both times we played Penn State we could have scored more, but Saban was holding back. In addition, I am not so sure Saban wasn't insisting on continuing to try to run the ball even against 8 in the box so he would have something to get on to the players about especially to get the focused during the bye week. The last thing he wants is for our team to get to high on themselves. I think we will do much better against A&M. Roll Tide!

First NO SERIOUS INJURIES!

Vinnie played Great!

Overall the Defense is not the concern we may have thought after the draft pick ups.

Finally, I think this game was just what CNS needed going into the TPI game, emotions only carry you so far, & now the preparation will be filled with Great teachable moments. I know predictions will come next week, but I see this game being one Bama fans will enjoy for a while.

I know VT front 7 were good, but it almost seemed like our coaches were telling the offense to just line up and keep doing it till you get it right.

Nailed it. Blacksmiths harden steel by repeatedly placing it into the fire and pounding it. The OL is a work in progress. IMO Saban was strengthening the steel by throwing them and the running game against VTs 8 man box.

I think you will see a very angry Alabama football team roll into College Station next weekend ! rtr...

My hope is you are right!

When you are challenged to correct a weakness, if you are accountable, you will try harder to correct those mistakes.

I think our o-line will use this as motivation!
