Notre Lame too good for a bowl

Absent coaching malpractice (of which there's no evidence to suggest Marcus Freeman is capable), that's 10-2 and a #12 final CFP ranking at worst...
If the AP ranks them high in the beginning...which they will because we know the AP is just a bunch of journalists who don't really follow CFB...then they wont drop below 12 in any week potentially. The AP rankings absolutely do affect where the committee ranks teams despite saying they dont

I think the decline by Auburn and Florida State is a result of the endless turmoil both programs have been in. For years now. Auburn is trying to re-start life as a football program, again, for the 3rd time in 6 years. Florida State is telling the world the cost of going to a crap-tier bowl would cost money they ain't got to lose. And FSU doesn't have a "poor" booster club. They just don't have Bobby Bowden anymore. That program is sliding into obscurity faster than Auburn has or is.

Notre Dame's 2026 schedule.
  • vs. Wisconsin
  • vs. Rice
  • vs. Michigan State
  • at Purdue
  • at UNC
  • vs. Navy
  • vs. Miami
  • vs. Boston College
  • vs. SMU
  • at Syracuse
  • vs. Stanford
  • vs. USC

I'll jusrt leave this here without comment.
3 true road games, against perennial powers Purdue, UNC, and Syracuse. Wisconsin, Michigan State, Miami, and USC look like tough names on paper. In reality, only USC and Miami would present a challenge.

Truly pathetic.

Well, if they do not like being left out of the playoff this year, they have not secured a schedule next year that would allow them to prove their worthiness.
