Biggest win in Bama basketball history!

Bama has beaten the #1 ranked team several times. Won games that clinched the SEC Championship and won the the SEC Tournament championship a good many times. Bama even made it to the elite eight once before.
Given the circumstances, this is Bama's most important win ever.
....I'm just hoping that the game Saturday against Clemson will become the new biggest win ever!

This is an article by a UNC beat writer. Like all of them, he concentrates on what they did. He ignores the absence of our best outside shooter. They were so lucky and don't seem to realize it. He ignores the crucial factor in the game - they were no capable of keeping up our pace. When Bacot dunked off the back of the rim, I commented to my wife "his legs are gone." Anyway, here 'tis...

Slightly off topic Earle but you make an excellent point. I watched Iowa -West Virginia 2nd round game in the Women’s tournament Monday night. You tell the WV strategy was put their best defenders on Caitlin Clark constantly, making her run endlessly and work hard for every shot. They didn’t let her breathe at both ends of the court.

And to Clark’s credit, she got her points but in the first three quarters. In the fourth quarter, her jump shots starting coming up short. Even her free throws as well. Her legs were giving out.

The game wasn’t an up and down game. But the tenacious way WV guarded her had taken its toll in the fourth. And at the end WV was in with a chance at the end. You can bet other teams were taking note if it was apparent to me.

I just have to repeat a sentiment others have said about the game last night. It was nice to not have officials insert themselves in a game unnecessarily. There were things I disagreed with on either end of the floor, but they didn’t decide the game by constantly stopping play or calling a one-sided game. It was kinda refreshing for the stripes to fade into the background where they are supposed to be.

So you've played against Alabama in the tournament as a player and now you're playing them — you've played them as a coach. What was it like having that perspective change from the player to being a coach now?
HUBERT DAVIS: "Really didn't think about it from a player's perspective. That was really a long time ago. But it was an honor and a privilege to play against Alabama tonight. They're one of the better teams in the country. Obviously very gifted from an offensive standpoint, not just shooting the basketball. They have guys that can create their own shot, just go get buckets. But also felt like their length and athleticism bothered us, bothered us defensively. I think that was a huge reason for our percentage, field goal percentage in the second half."
"Being down, we were just — their length and the way they challenged our shots bothered us, and then their ability to get second-chance opportunities. I know we won the rebounding battle, but in order for us to have won this game we needed to dominate the boards on both ends of the floor. We did get 22 offensive rebounds, but not enough defensive rebounds to come away with a win."

I have the Zags beating them in my bracket
me too

I'll be shocked if Shaka doesn't choke vs NC State.

The Wolfpack are the Hottest team in the Country relative to where they were before the ACC Conf Tourney and Shaka always chokes...always.
I have Marquette in the Final 4. I feel less confident about it now. Plus I honestly forgot Shaka was their coach.

I did this last year when I had them going to either the Elite 8 or Final 4 and they got bounced in Round 2 to Izzo's Spartans.

Shaka made a FF like 14 years ago and ever since he's never made it past Round 2 until this year.

Plus NC State is Nuclear Hot right now. I wouldn't be shocked if the Pack make it to the Final 4.
