Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama @ AU...

Not really. Basically had a bust on one play and a missed tackle on another that gave AU a third of their yards and 2 TDs. They were more than good enough outside of those 2 plays despite our offense putting them in bad positions multiple times.
Those two plays accounted for 130 yards, they had 26 total yards with 8:18 to go in the second quarter. They finished with 411 total yards. So that’s 253 yards of offense over 2 1/2 quarters without the long plays. Defense was getting gashed . It’s a good thing we made the TD on 4th and 2 because the way the barn moved down the field on the final drive, they would have been in FG range to win the game otherwise.

Speaking of Ryan Williams, I don't think he's on the team next year. Hard to tell. This weekend will determine a lot about him and his place on the team playing time wise.
Honestly, I dont care if he goes. He has regressed while #17 Brooks has greatly progressed. I think Williams made a mistake by reclassifying and leaving g HS early. He wasn't ready.

Man, I am so glad we won that game last night. After many, many years of watching BAMA play Auburn, I have determined that the worst time to play Auburn - at their place - is when they have absolutely nothing on the line to play for. Not counting all of the mystical stuff that happens down there, we always get their best shot.

Defenses are bring pressure on both edges and up the middle where we have an undersized Center. Ty can't climb the pocket and rolling out is more difficult because the defense are winning the edge. We have not adjusted the play calling to counter these trends. Without adjusting the formation or play calling Ty's growing option is longer drop backs and throwing off his back foot. He is taking more hits and his accuracy has fallen. All because our OC hasn't adjusted his play calling menu. The same thing that got him fired in Seattle.

To me, I think less shotgun more under center play action passing is the antidote to slow the rush down. And I actually think our OL could tighten up their gaps and become more effective in their blocking for under center PA offense.

I am a bit baffled by his play the last two years.
Comes out of the gate strong and just fades into the SEC schedule.
Is he injured? i didnt really see him much last night.

Just finished watching the game and a few observations I noticed is that we were very lucky with all the drops by Auburn. I don't think we will get those next week against Georgia. I also don't know what is going on with Ryan Williams. He doesn't look hurt, but he had no targets today. I have a feeling the coaches have lost confidence in him and prefer Brooks, who has been playing really well. Hopefully, Williams will show out like he has against Georgia in previous games. I am also worried about Miller's injury, and hope Hill and maybe Dear can step up next Saturday. I do like that we ran Simpsom some today and I think that needs to stay in the offense. Georgia did not look great against Tech like they have in previous weeks so hopefully we can steal us a championship and a first round bye in the playoffs.
