Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama @ AU...

Speaking of Ryan Williams, I don't think he's on the team next year. Hard to tell. This weekend will determine a lot about him and his place on the team playing time wise.

I think we need to cut him loose.

It’s the smart roster move right now and put that NIL into helping other places.

I was looking for him to put in major work this past offseason to get stronger and tougher and more technically sound and he didn’t improve on one single aspect and has regressed mightily.

I wish him no ill will and hope he gets it together somewhere else but he just doesn’t seem to want to play FB in the SEC.

We are the Pros now and it’s a business decision.

Stop, just stop. Ty's the perfect fit for his system. The guy can't help himself but to sabotage scoring momentum. Hes done it all year. The offense will be rocking, we're right on the verge of breaking game open and Grubb screws up three straight drives with dumb playcalling.
That’s the thing. It’s never just ONE bad drive. It’s usually 3-4 in a row. Always in the third quarter.

One thing I thought was crazy about the offensive playcalling: Once we hit 100yds rushing at about 17min on the game clock, it’s like we said “well that’s our quota, shut it down boys!” Obviously we still ran some, but we went from calling a lot of successful edge stuff with pulls to just straight up the gut for 1yd. I haven’t rewatched the game but that is the impression I got!

Ryan Grubb is starting to get on my nerves. I'm shocked to say it but his play calling is crazy inconsistent.

His trick plays almost never work. His 4th down plays are almost always just variations of the same thing and people are catching on. I will say when it has come down to a must get drive he and Ty have been pretty good this season.

Idk he's not bad but he's not nearly as good as I was hoping.

Grubb seems like he can’t be satisfied running conventional plays even when they’re working.

It’s like he has to try fancy stuff to prove how smart he is.

And I think you’re spot on re 4th down calls.

I’m not saying he’s bad, but he is not the play calling genius he’s made out to be.

While it was a close game. It didn't have that miserable JHS Voodo feel to it. For once I will actually feel like rewatching the whole JHS iron bowl. Maybe CKD has auburn's number. I know they were 5-6, But this was a big win because it was them on their own field and they couldn't magically make stuff happen like they have in past.. I never felt like we were in danger of losing the game. I am not used to saying that when it comes to JHS iron Bowls
I felt like there was a possibility going into the week we could lose because it was JHS. But during the game, I felt like if we did lose It would honestly be on this team. Not the stadium or pixie dust this time. Auburn played like a determined 5-6 team and end the end they showed why there were 5-6.

Man, I am so glad we won that game last night. After many, many years of watching BAMA play Auburn, I have determined that the worst time to play Auburn - at their place - is when they have absolutely nothing on the line to play for. Not counting all of the mystical stuff that happens down there, we always get their best shot.
Their season’s over…they have no bowl game…no 15 bowl practices…no getting their EE’s some valuable bowl practice time…there’s money for bowl games…they had plenty on the line…

That was my point last night - almost no OC is immune to this behavior. We've had the same complaint over and over, as have the fans of every other school I know.
