This one was a depressing game. Obviously, changes have to happen and quickly. Just looking ahead at our schedule, we have to meet Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, and Auburn. I could even add South Carolina and Wisconsin in the mix. I have a hard time believing we can win three of these upcoming games. A four loss season will demand change, starting with coaches. We went through the dark ages after Coach Bryant retired. We could be seeing the same since Coach Saban retired. I hope I am wrong, but the direction we are headed is not promising.

Just don’t like the soft coaches. Soft dc gives you this and soft head coach/oc. I’ve also wondered why strength staff has been so hyped, since taking over we seemed weaker physically every year.
We get run over and drug a lot for sure

Not sure how to feel about this one. I’ve been a DeBoer apologist and there’s a lot of season left, and it’s better to lose early. But this felt like Vandy last season on a larger scale with better players across the board for the other team. The offensive game plan was solid and they were forced to get away from it because the defense wet the bed again versus a mobile QB in a misdirection style offense. Ty was asked to do too much today, and honestly he didn’t play too bad.

Thing is, there are several more teams on our schedule with this type of QB and this style of offense. Auburn is licking their chops, from what I saw last night.

Unacceptable.

We are unprepared regularly now. Thats coaching. Absolutely unacceptable.

Preparation, execution and adjustments is what I wanted to see. I couldn't watch the game, but I listened to Chris and Tyler.

All three facets were abhorrent. We weren't prepared again. We had terrible execution. And the adjustments were never there because we were already so unprepared.

Time for the west coast experiments to end.
Even if the team is not very good, at the very least we should be able to get disciplined play. That idiot unsportsmanlike conduct penalty took all the air out of what could have been a comeback. Gave them all the momentum back.

Well, after last year and the off season, all I heard was the team bought in and there are leaders. But yet, even with a full off season this staff can't adjust and prepare. The result was what we saw today. This team, with current staff, will be lucky to win 6 games.

8-4 is the ceiling. Honestly. I want to believe in this staff, but they are making it hard.

You're correct.

In opposition to what Jessie Palmer said, our season is effectively over.

There are non-correctables in this team.

Well, at least not with this coaching staff...

What little passion I had for college football was pretty much extinguished today.

I tried, but I just am not feeling it. I've been posting quite a lot about this over the last couple of years - the way the game has changed (x-fer portal, pay for play, etc) has basically ruined the sport for me. I had hoped watching the game today would get me fired up, but in reality, I'm not even upset Bama lost. I feel no connection to this team, and they feel completely disconnected from the school I attended.

C'est la vie...

But; had we dominated today, you would be filling pretty good? At seats for the evening?

DeBoer’s issue is that he expects these players to motivate themselves. These guys have hundreds of thousands of more reasons to not be motivated now. It’s just another obstacle in college football.

Saban endorsed DeBoer because Saban saw his style of coaching becoming less effective.

DeBoer is going to have to find the line between letting these guys be themselves, and demanding a standard from everyone.
