Bad news is that it's only two weeks. First round games are Dec 19-20Unless DeBoer makes some drastic changes over the next three weeks…we don’t need to be in the playoffs. We’d be undefeated with a decent run game.

That's the point we need to remember. We gifted them 21 of the 28 with short fields.Apart from the interception and punt block, both of which lead to points, this was actually a competitive game. It didn't feel that way, but it wasn't like Georgia's offense dominated. They were given a short field multiple times, they took advantage. That was the difference.
It was under 7 minutes. We HAD to go for it needing 2 more TD drives to tie! What was that? 8:43 to go in the game, down by 14, and you don’t punt? Punt there, get a stop and get the ball back with maybe 5:30- 6:00 minutes to go . At least that gives your team a chance. That I do have a problem with. Especially considering we were at least moving the ball a little when we went to a strictly passing attack to play catch up.
BTW, a pure passing attack was what won the first meeting. We have no backs, no run game all year , why try to force a running attack. Be who you are.
If we get left out of the playoffs this could be a weird side consequence. Teams would start playing conference championship games really conservatively and be scoreboard watching instead of trying to winIt was under 7 minutes. We HAD to go for it needing 2 more TD drives to tie!

It didn't look competitive, but without those mistakes, we could have tried to stay with the run with D. Hill more, as we started out.
We probably don't win doing that, but we don't get beat by 21 either!

Our offense was beyond putrid. Our defense was pretty good for the most partNow we sound like Texas trying to convince themselves losing 35-10 wasn't a blow out.
We had -3 yards rushing.....first team in SECCG history not to rush for a 1st down. We got owned.
Perfectly written and even some on this board don’t want to admit it this was spot on…it’s not about Grubb, Womack or any other coach on the staff or analyst behind the scene it is about the man who steers the ship. Leaving Ty in was unfair to Ty and the entire team. Trying something different - even if it didn’t work would have been better than standing like a statue on the sidelines doing nothing. And for those calling for Grubb to be fired a simple question who hired and approved his game plan every week. And for those concerned about the cost of letting a coach go a question how much money did he cost the University last night if we are left out of the CFP due to his indecision. This is harsh, but probably correct.
Kalen DeBoer Should Have Benched Ty Simpson at Halftime, And It Cost Alabama the Game
It is a truism that the most popular guy on campus is always the 2nd string QB. Nevertheless, assuming it is true that Ty is injured, Coach should have had the courage to tell Ty, "You are hurt and not playing well enough to win. I owe the rest of the team a chance to win this game. Matt will start the second half." That would have been leadership.
It would not mean Ty is a failure. It just means he is hurt. It would not mean the program is giving up on Ty. But the team matters more than one individual. Or it should.
In Star Trek: The Next Generation, Counsellor Troi keeps taking the test to become an officer with command authority, and keeps failing the test. She only passes the test when she shows that, if the situation requires, she will knowingly order one of the crew members to his death in order to save the ship and the rest of the crew. That is the hard truth about leadership. Coach DeBoer would do well to ponder this lesson.

No proof but IMO the severe lack of rungame+Horrid oline play+ Predictable playcalling= A shellshocked and beat up QBI’m wondering what was the point of playing Mack early on in those blowout games if he wasn’t going to get at least a series when it mattered.
UGA was in a similar situation last year with the exception being an injury but Carson Beck was struggling as the season went on, turned the ball over a lot and he got knocked out of the SECCG, Stockton came in and didn’t light it up but did just enough to win the game for them.
I don’t wanna harp on Ty too much but as you said, the coaches have a responsibility to do what’s best for the team and for the player, Ty is clearly not 100%, I don’t know if it’s physical, I don’t know if it’s concussion related but this is not the same QB from September.
And it’s been said but the fact that both Milroe and Simpson ended up being a shell of themselves by the end of their respective season is kind of fishy, like what is going on?

Many are too young to remember Coach Bryant but coming back from halftime he was asked by a sideline reporter why he changed QBs … his answer - I’m just trying to win a ball game…Selah
We don’t deserve to go to the playoff. BUT - who deserves it more? Texas? Vandy? BYU?
And that’s why we should go. We earned it. Even though we look pretty sorry. Grubb doesn’t have a 2nd bag of tricks? Geez.
No, I'm saying "context" matters. Now we sound like Texas trying to convince themselves losing 35-10 wasn't a blow out.

We had terrible field position ALL night (at one point it was our 17 and I think that was before the fumbled punt inside the 5) and they started at their 37.
Not we didn't play well, but the point is 21 of their points came off our mistakes and a shortened field.
Our only TD drive was 93 yards.
All I'm saying is we don't get blown out save for about 3-5 plays.
