I do long for those days, because those were the two greatest eras of any team in college football history( better than yours OU/Bud Wilkinson) . But if you can’t move forward with the times, you get the dark periods of Alabama football. Living in the past does no one any good. MAL Moore Understood that, and he lived the Golden Era of Coach Bryant. Celebrate the past, but live for the future. Applies especially to college football. The only fan worse than those who long for the days of Bryant will be those that long for the days of Saban.
Can I long for the Bill Curry days? Lol. That’s really what we have now.The only fan worse than those who long for the days of Bryant will be those that long for the days of Saban.
If you ask what S&C have to do with developing a high level of toughness, you obviously haven’t been through one. What does S&C have to do with that?
Toughness is a mindset instilled at practice.
I’m not removing any aspect of the program from being looked at and improved, but this is like firing Womack because the receivers can’t beat the jam.
Maybe, but everyone is comparing him to coaches with deep pockets, or coaches who coached during different eras. Can I long for the Bill Curry days? Lol. That’s really what we have now.
He’s not Shula or DuBose. But he sure feels like Curry to me.
And film showed week after week our OL was our weakness. Teams started taking risks and sending pressure and it worked. Its hard to point to other elements of the offense when regardless of the playcall the OL is letting free rushers into the backfield. We couldnt even run a swing pass to the running without Ty having to throw around or over a free rusher. There is a lot of game film out now..no surprises so we need to be changing things up...but Grubb hasn't shown any change at all...we are easy to gameplan for
They won’t leave the #1 team in the SEC Reg Season out.
Physicality has nothing to do with mental toughness. This team is mentally tough, as evidenced by the close victories. This team doesn’t use its strength to dominate opponents. If you ask what S&C have to do with developing a high level of toughness, you obviously haven’t been through one.
and if they do, mayhem will explode.....you can't punish a team for playing in a championship game. They won’t leave the #1 team in the SEC Reg Season out.
Have you ever noticed that every time Bama is a bubble team there are suddenly new criteria that matters to these committees. This even goes back to the 4 team playoff days. It hasn’t always kept us out but every single time there is a new metric that suddenly matters.
This year these idiots are suddenly concerned about rushing yards, but only when talking about Bama. They purposely looked for a stat to knock us down a peg.
Suddenly head to head only matters when you are ranked next to each other. They created this nonsense so they can ignore our UGA win in Athens, and prop up their media darling ND over Miami.
They literally make it up as they go along. They publicly push this false narrative that they have a list of set criteria they follow. No, what they really do is rank teams however they want, with all their preconceived biases built in, and then have to make up the narrative on the spot to justify their rankings.
They also need to stop this Tuesday night show and weekly rankings crap. They claim the weekly rankings are for transparency, but it creates the controversies because of the stupid changes and excuses they use. The committee needs to stop being a made for TV spectacle. They come together when all the games are over and release their bracket and seedings.
If we are going to continue this committee stuff then it needs to have a set in stone list of criteria and nothing else matters. They need to create a quad based system, or something similar, like basketball uses. Something that makes more sense then making it up as they go.
I hope not. They won’t leave the #1 team in the SEC Reg Season out.
That could be it, thanksI think you are referencing the 1980 Bama / ND game. When Bear switched from Don Jacobs to Walter Lewis. He was asked why, and he replied . ‘Why ,to let the other Boy play’ . The game finished 7-0.
and if they do, mayhem will explode.....you can't punish a team for playing in a championship game.
But will they seat 5 SEC teams? I really can’t see where they would. They won’t leave the #1 team in the SEC Reg Season out.
obviously, alex golesh
I watched CKD's presser after the game...embarrassing. Excuses and begging to get in the CFP. There was a time we would have kicked the door down.
But they will find other ways to “punish”.and if they do, mayhem will explode.....you can't punish a team for playing in a championship game.
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if teams agreed ahead of time either play backups or treat the game like the Pro Bowl in the future. You’re correct, and I shouldn’t post when tired. But overall point would still be true were that would happened.
Let me throw another wrench into the whole thing: what if Georgia decided to play nothing but back ups yesterday since:
1) they were already in anyway
2) it would guarantee another SEC team in the playoff, which is more money for Georgia as well
