Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. UTw...

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

ok, but the RPO is really tied to the QB being able to hit that short or intermediate route quickly if the mesh is defended, and we haven't seen JM do that.
Yeah I’d love to see what the other guys can do but if we’re riding with Milroe let’s do what he’s capable of at least.

For those that say OC isn’t part of the problem: the Notre Dame boards rejoiced when Saban hired Tommy Rees…they knew something; if Sark or Kiffin was our OC right now, even with JM as QB, would we be looking at the same offense?

This won't be popular on this board, and it isn't popular with me, but there are some UGA folks that think Smart made Saban's defense and not the other way around. Now he's at UGA and we've dropped off.
Go back and watch us at Auburn in the kick 6 game and let me know how good Kirby’s D was that night. HORRIBLE. If it weren’t for CNS hiring him and muschamp, they’d be coaching high school ball in Georgia.

Good game to the longhorns... they played a much better game than we did.
I sure hope we can get better before Ole Miss.
I expect the quarterback competition is wide open.

A change is necessary. ASAP would be my recommendation.
If we lose a game under QB2 it will not be because he isn't trying to make his reads. Buckner or Simpson would maybe be better in the long run than Milroe.
To be fair, what QB would’ve had time tonight to progress through his reads? Did Milroe ever have 3 seconds without pressure? Did we call a single quick slant?

Don’t say that or you’ll be in the “Cult of Pruitt.”
I’m sure he’s a bad person but yeah sign me up. I’m ready for my Air Force ones, track suits, and to drink that fizzy koolaid

Well, our problem seems to stem from this is the offense and defense that see each other in practice. We dont have QBs or OL that can challenge our D. The fact we had reports this offense was running the ball on our D are now troubling.

We had to spend so much time working basic concepts for 3 different QBs likely didnt help any of the units improve except for the kickers are who are not involved in the scrimmages.
I read that Milroe and several of our receivers worked out together this Summer. Is this the support our team relies on to name a #1?
I much prefer the head Coach name the #1, rather than winning the locker room. Popularity isn't all it's cracked up to be.
My question to the players is:
' Do you want to be friends, or win Football Games?'

From my seats in the end zone, it looked we got manhandled in pass protection and generated zero pass rush. To be dominated at the LOS is disappointing. No unit on the team is really distinguishing themselves so far. We didn't really do anything well consistently.

Texas is okay. We are meh. We have an average line blocking for a RB pretending to be a QB. Coach don't have the guts to make a change. D came up flat at the end. Non conference game so perhaps we can make a run. Does anyone really believe that is possible with Milroe?

What if they win out from here, how would this double digit loss affect their chance at a playoff spot?

Two turnovers = 10 points. Two penalties took away 2 TDs and led to FGs. That’s 18 points.
One TD, sure. But if you are going to include the play at the end of the second half as a penalty taking away a TD, let’s at least be honest and acknowledge that that was a HORRIBLE throw that should have been a pick if not a pick 6. We lucked into the DB tipping it back into the EZ where our guy caught it. At least we got 3 out of it instead of a pick.
