The defensive line has to change, this defense cannot work without pressure from the down three. Start there.

We played about as terrible as one could play in a football game. TBH I don’t know what to make of the rest of the season because I don’t know the last time we’ve lost a game this early. I’m in complete shock in how this ended.

Colorado turned over 90+% if its roster and is 2-0. Bama has 3 of the 6 highest recruiting classes ever on its roster.

We had a number of highly rated OL recruits not work out. And we haven't had a ton of highly rated DL guys the last few years.
That's a big part of it. We kind of wasted the Bryce years and we haven't fixed enough this year to overcome the drop in QB play.
I'm am not ready to say it is the end of the Saban area at all. Lets see what happens the rest of the season.

We’ve had the best run in the history of college football. I seriously doubt any team ever comes close to what Bama achieved over the last 15 years. You can’t stay at the mountain top forever. We’ve not just stayed there we planted a flag and lived there. Bama was the envy of college football. Being down for a couple years is naturally going to happen. Just enjoy what we’ve had, I know I do.
Hate to lose but gotta' give a tip of the hat to Texas. Their QB, OL, and DL were superior to ours. I think Bama is better than what we saw today... I think... maybe... I hope...
The defense played ok as a whole, considering. We got no pressure at all but I refuse to believe that is because of lack of talent. This looked just like a typical Golding scheme. Something isn’t right.
This is precisely why I’m “meh” and college football. It’s just not the same. Really wish we had tried another thrower in the game. I hear all the Chicken Littles and that’s more than annoying too. This team is incredibly young. Also, gotta give UT and Sark props. They were ready for primetime.
i do agree. It would have been nice to of had a cupcake this weekend. However on the otherhand i think milroe is who we were afraid he was. It seems he has not made any progress since the a&m game last year. I still don't understand the wr's going mia for stretches of the game. Milroe looks lost at times and indecisive for the most part. Texas consistently got pressure with three guys and dared Rees to beat them throwing the ball. I remember a time when that would have happened.

This team literally has more talent (according to recruiting rankings) than any team EVER. Three of the top sixe recruiting classes EVER RECORDED are playing for Bama right now - not the top six in Bama history, but the top six in CFB recruiting history.
If you can't win with that.. heck, if you can't field a solid team with that - there are much, much deeper issues.

I hate to say it, but I think Coach Prime is showing us the way. Coach Saban asked if this is what we wanted to college football to become and it's now here. If you want to win, you've got to play the game. The game is now yearly roster overhauls and NIL arms races. Waterfalls, slides, and putt putt golf in the football building mean nothing now.
Here’s the crazy thing we have to accept: this team wouldn’t even make the 12 team playoff. Let that sink in. How is this possible?
