Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama vs. Vandy...

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

I cannot believe we did not see the shovel pass again. Were we doing something on D that took it away?
What I thought I saw was a bit better penetration in the middle with the tackles that allowed them to hold the middle point and not be swept to either side but my eye is not a coach's for sure! I, like you, was glad to not have seen it anymore though!

-10 you say. Yes, that's likely.

Ty isn't just a great QB....even though he tried to hero ball some in the 3rd and took some sacks he shouldn't have.....but what he's shown at this point is LEADERSHIP. The kid is a great leader and a great QB.

When he threw that ball off target a tad to Ryan late and he couldn't catch it....he ran over to him on the sidelines and I imagine was telling him it was on him and to shake it off. Milroe would have sat on the bench and talked to no one.
I saw that , Ty was taking his helmet off slowly, then saw Williams down on himself on the bench and ran over to him. He Got in a Ryan’s face and smacked him on the helmet a couple of times. Probably saying like you said, it was on Ty and keep grinding. Don't won’t to lose Ryan mentality and Ty recognized that. Too bad TV cut away and didn't mention it.
LEADER!

I don’t understand this narrative to prop up Vandy in this game by the national media. One team dominated everything except the score. I saw somewhere that Vandy had 22 rushing yards in the second half. No one mentions that . Or after 57 minutes gone in the game, Vandy had less than 300 yards total offense, broke the 300 mark after it was a 2 score game, or that Bama Kicked too many field goals , otherwise Austin Mack would have played the last few drives of the 4th quarter. All I hear is Vandy didn’t play Vandy football, they turned it over and didn’t posses the ball long enough. Haven’t heard that Bama’s defense shut down Pavia all but a few plays. To me, the stats show clear domination

Projected second day. fl pick before the season, preseason All SEC selection. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
Maybe that injury is still nagging him a bit. Or maybe he's just not the best anymore. Freshmen, Carroll and Sanders, have looked really good. Regardless, I hope whatever it is says a lot about depth improvement on the OL.

If you want to see just how dramatically college football has changed for the worse in the NIL and transfer portal era, look no further than Vanderbilt.

I have family who went to school there, worked there, who even represent the best of the institution: My beloved first cousin ran the ER there for years. I know for a fact that she does not want a crotch-grabbing, trash-talking, aggressively professional "student" to be what everyone thinks of when they hear the word "Vanderbilt." Yet here we are.

With about 10 underclassmen, and a bunch of grad students, transfers and upperclassmen that have little or no connection to Vanderbilt, Nashville, or the high bar represented therein, Vandy has become "Vandy," with very intentional quote marks. And the standard has been breached and usurped by an undeniably talented but inconceivably crass "face of the university."

I know national recruiting was already spoiling the regionality of college football fandom and the "special-ness" of loyalty and rivalries (raise you hand if you worried about players who don't care enough about beating UT and AU because they had no connection to the importance of the games in their DNA)... But observing "Vandy" now is a whole other level.

This, we started getting better pressure in the backfield so it took away plays like that.

where did we go? Missed the playoffs by the skin of our teeth’s last year. Lost in OT to the eventual Champs the year before.
