Need the run defense to step up today! It has been talked about negatively all week.

I think we will miss Russaw on the edge, he is quick and has the ability to erase mistakes. I hope the short handed Dline holds up for four quarters, James Smith should be fresh late in the game anyway.

A person on another board was saying that he has been told that they've been playing Lawson at Outside Linebacker in practice this week.

It has been an interesting morning so far. I went for a hike as I finishing up, I run into about 8 Cobb County policemen and park rangers. All had long rifles. They were looking for someone on the trail. S are thing is I saw the guy they described. He looked to be in no hurry and it only registered with me because he was alone. I pointed the cops to the direction I saw him going. Hope they find him.

Anyway football time.

I will be curious to hear how our guys look in pre-games. It might be too early for them to be out there. Cannot remember. I have not been to a game since 2019. My recliner and 4K television are more comfortable than a seat in BDS.

You can bank on this. Wommack cant scheme a run defense to save his life.

We will need to execute at a very high level on offense mostly because Vandy will play efficient ball control offense based on running limiting our possessions.

I think that is why Pavia is so confident and essentially telegraphing what they will do.

This game is really on Wommack's shoulders...

IF the D is confused and plays like slop all game Wommack should get a pink slip in the tunnel on the way back to the locker room.

I think winning the coin toss and starting fast is key. If we can run out to an early lead of at least two scores, Vandy's O isn't necessarily built for quick strikes. Might also mitigate the absences of Russaw, Latham and Smith (for the first half).

We'll learn a lot about Wommack today. If the D isn't ready after all the negativity that's come their way this week, a change will be in order.

The conversation about the defense has to be had after the season. We can't keep being bad and undisciplined against the run and expect to have success.

Just read that Vandy has the second heaviest starting OLine in the League , averaging 330 pounds. Not a good stat for our depleted DLine.

The defenses Wommack was seeing where he was don't resemble what Vandy presently runs. I hope we start out in base, with contingency plans for a switch to spying Pavia if necessary...

I'm pretty sure he could give tours. He did some graduate work at Bama.

In fact, he mentioned earlier today that he wants to visit the library sometime to see if they still have a copy of some manuscript. They used to have two. I think he's hoping they'd be willing to part with one...
