Interesting movement in the betting line.

Opened at Alabama -13.5. Immediately moved to Alabama -10.5 — IOW, bettors were taking Vandy plus the points in huge numbers.

Lately, it’s climbing back. Now, it’s Alabama -11.5 to 12.5, depending on the book.

IDK when the “smart money” bets, but I’d guess it’s late. If I’m right, the guys who do this for a living think we win by low double digits.

I hope they’re right.

My fear (defensively) is Wommack will get out coached on top of our lack of discipline. This is why I hope our offensive is "on" because with Vandy's type of offense I don't have much confidence in Wommack winning the battle of schematics. I hope the offense is on and puts up 40+.

Might just do that if we have a couple of guys that can catch the ball on a consistent basis.

I think we will miss Russaw on the edge, he is quick and has the ability to erase mistakes. I hope the short handed Dline holds up for four quarters, James Smith should be fresh late in the game anyway.

None of Vandy's 5 wins are teams currently in the AP top 25. S Carolina was ranked when they played, but are no longer.
They have wins over Charleston St, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Georgia St., and Utah St. All currently unranked teams. Vandy has averaged 49 points per game. But that includes 70 on Georgia St.

Vandy's biggest win was likely South Carolina, who are 3-2. They beat unranked Virginia Tech 24-11, unranked SC State 38-10, and unranked Kentucky 35-13.
They lost to Vandy 31-7, and to #23 Missouri 29-20.

Here's an interesting comparison:
Vandy 55 Utah St 35
Texas A&M 44 Utah St 22

Vandy has an offense that can definitely score a lot of points. But their defense can be beat. Bama needs to wear their defense down with long sustained drives. And score touchdowns. Vandy's defense is average at best, and do not have the depth to keep up, especially in the second half.

Keys to Bama winning:
Offense - Long sustained drives ending with touchdowns.
Defense - Contain Pavia, and play good pass defense with our great secondary.
