Okay, how did the barn suddenly surge ahead of us in the recruiting rankings?

Earlier today, we were holding steady at number 3, and the barn, I think was just inside the top 10. Now, just a few hours later, the barn suddenly bolts up to number 2? Did any one recruit make that much difference? I $mell $omething, uh, fi$hy.

Like it or not, but playing time plus a national title helps. That being said, Alabama will finish #1 on Rivals and near the top on ESPN. We should land around #5 on Scout. Not a bad class to say the least.

ESPN jumped them from 6 to 2 after ONE committment (CK). I always consider ESPN the 3rd most important recruiting 'guru', behind Scout and Rivals... that just cemented it. Allburn does have a great class especially on the OL, but in my mind one player is not worth 4 spots especially in the top 5. Either they should have been ranked higher to begin with, or shouldnt have jumped that far.

Took the words right out of my mouth. But..if it helps, UGA stays in the top 10 in recruiting and has only 1 SEC championship to show for it in the past 10 years.

On the flipside, Chris Samuels, Demeco Ryans, Javier Arenas, Terrence Cody, William Vlachos, Marcel Dareus, Greg McElroy....none of them were highly touted, but that worked out pretty well for us.

And if the recruiting rankings REALLY mean that much to you, we have 3 years worth of #1 classes on campus RIGHT NOW and ready to play. A top 10 final ranking outside of the top 5 one year won't kill us. Our staff is not only good at evaluating talent, but developing talent too. We'll be aye ok

It is quite clear that Auburn has been able to dispell any cloud & convince every recruit that there is no probation or even any further investigation forthcoming. Unfortunately, I am beginning to believe them. The NCAA, SEC & the media no longer even mention the question. This allows Auburn to point toward a "clean", trouble free future. Couple that with immediate playing time and they get recruits signed.

Yeah, hard to argue with this. We as fans get caught up in the hype of all this recruiting and the "stars" and "rankings" of these players. Yet I guarantee you there's someone who's signing that LOI went absolutely unnoticed, no glamor, no media hype yet will turn out to be the next great Alabama star. It just seems to work out that way.

Looks like things are back right with the world. Ask people around the country today whats the biggest rivalry in football you know the answer will be Alabama aubarn. I wanted to pull my hair out when people were saying Ohio Michigan.

I wish aub nothing put pain and humiliation nothing good comes from the aubs doing well.

That being said the rankings will shake up when cyrus is removed from their commits and if he flips we'll move up a bit. We also only have 23 commits and having more numbers can really help your ranking.

Money talks.

I think that the Barn centers their recruiting efforts on showing recruits a good time. Bama centers theirs around answering important questions and giving the recruit a realistic idea of what to expect from the next four years. Auburn lately has been able to get recruits that have no business playing there. By that I mean good recruits. Auburn is always trying so hard to sell the Auburn family, have a great time, Bama is all business we're all fun, we're one giant family, I love you, you love me, we're a happy family, all we are is just a really big family BS and teenagers are vulnerable to that kind of stuff. That's just the way it is. That's why I think they got Kouandijo...dude just wants to have a good time.

do you really believe in your "hearts of hearts" that the NCAA is done with the investigation??

I can't believe that some people want instant gratification so badly. it took 4 years for USC to go down. there are more stuff with this auburn mess than anything we could ever imagine. the Trojans BS looks like a boy scout meeting compared to this.

but hey, by all means if you start believing that nothing will come from all this auburn crap, I am not going to stop you.

btw, MOOOOO!!

I think if you look at next years schedule, a 6-6 or 7-5 season by the barn will take this years luster off. They are doing this off of this year. Coaching means a lot here. Bama has taken several not so greats and turned out fine ball players. Barn also tends to lose a few too the books also. So, lets see in 2 or 3 years how this once in a life time barn recruiting does.

If you follow recruiting you will see a trend at auburn, they will either have commits not make it on campus due to academics, not panning out at the next level, transferring, or simply dropping out.

relax, this class is the best they ever had because of the recent NC, early playing time, no qaulity depth chart to contend with, etc.

let's see how they develop these players once they get there. I will take CNS AND OUR STAFF over them any day of the week and 2x on Sunday!!
