Game Thread: Ole Miss - Auburn

Why is CN still in the game? Or any of the starters? It doesn't make any sense to me to keep your starters in when the game in obviously in hand. I know they are trying to up CN's Heisman numbers, but still.

I hate it when any team, including Bama, does this.

Don't be surprised if Cam plays the entire game regardless of the big lead.

Let those Barners get comfortable, real comfortable, then comes Bama  I'm greasing my chops right now, but we have a lot of business to take care of between now and then. LSU and Miss State are going to be a dogfights.

A lot of tough talk that I'm worrying we can't back up. They are an excellent team, and we have been inconsistent. Nothing sickens me more than watching these scum bags play well. I hate off weeks, as a fan.

I like our chances against barnie, but there are some delusional posters on this board who predict a loss for them every stinking week. I guess you have to be right eventually, but barnie ain't as bad as some of the blind on here think they are. They are actually a really good team who, despite having a bad defense, are able to put up numbers on offense. I hate it, but they are good.

I totally agree. The whole "Who dares pick Southern Tennessee Tech over Auburn" threads are really laughable. Cam Newton is an amazing player, and they have enough offensive fire power to beat anyone. Can we beat them? Absolutely, but we are going to have to score over 31 to do it and our offense has been inconsistent. If we hold them under 28 points, we have no excuses if we lose.

They will no doubt be a really tough opponent!

Well, speaking for "the blind", I do too like Bama's chances against the barn. I'm not going to worry myself for the next month about how good Auburn is...I know they are. But, I have faith that Saban and his crew will be put together a great gameplan against them.

Now...let's go take care of LSU and Miss St. first, then "worry" about the boogs.

auburn is absolutely legit and Bama is going to have to play a great game to beat them.....but lets not worry about them til thanksgiving week, Lsu is going to give us all we can handle, and i hope the players are more focused on Lsu then the Bama fans are.......

If Auburn plays us like they did Arkansas or LSU, and we play less than stellar on either side of the ball, we lose. End of story.

That said, we'll beat them.
If we establish the run, we can throw off their offensive tempo. Slow and steady offensive gain is the key.

My takeaways...
- Auburn is very, very good.
- Newton CAN beat us with his arm if we're not on top of our game.
- Auburn's O-Line is better than ours.
- Iron Bowl: Bama will likely be the underdog in B-D.

If neither team loses another game up to the Iron Bowl, it'll be a miscarriage of justice if the winner doesn't win the SECCG and get to the BCSCG. Auburn's a cinch if they win. Hopefully Bama doesn't get aced out by BSU.

Considering the situation at halftime of Oregon-USCw, I don't see anyone stopping Oregon so they likely lock down one of the BCSCG slots.

This is what too few people are talking about. Old Miss just scored 31 on them. Cam doesn't play defense. Hardly anyone does. I'm not an idiot who thinks they have no chance to beat us but I think we can outscore them 8-9 times out of 10.

That and I think we can contain Cam most of the time. In
the LSU game how many times did you see a defender trying to catch him from BEHIND in the pocket? Its like no one watched us keep a pocket around Tebow last year.

Agree on all counts. Auburn has a couple of starters that will play on Sundays, the rest are sold out to playing as a team. Nowhere is this more evident then the O-Line, who IMO are playing over their heads and excell at holding without getting caught.

I'm not sold that Cam get rely solely on his arm. The Ole Siss secondary played like hot butter all night, and Cam was the knife. All the receivers were wide open. He won't have that luxioury against our improving secondary.

If we play like we're capable, I still like our chances.

Another thing I learned. Cam will be a mismatch at WR next year in the NFL.

Also, Nutt rivals Miles for worst misuse of personel on offense.
