Game Thread: OM Post Game Thread

Well, our defense did what it needed to do when it needed to do it, and that (combined with a fine offensive effort in the first half) is what won us this ballgame.

It wasn't pretty. I was on pins & needles the entire 2nd half. But considering we were coming from an off week, I'll take it, say "thank you" on my way out the door, and shut off the lights behind me.

I don't need 24 hours to "enjoy" it. Bring on Tennessee week!
 
OK...a little logic and sensible talk here...would you have taken 7-0 at this point before the season started? These guys are gutting out some tough situations and it will pay dividends later no matter how comfortable or uncomfortable we all feel about it.

Let's improve this week and go take over Rocky Top!

a win....is a win....IS A WIN. no matter how ugly. injuries, turnovers, penalties happen all the time. a great team pulls wins out no matter what. i don't like the way Bama is winning, especially hanging on in the 2nd half....but i'll gladly take the wins lately. lets not forget......there's no way Bama would have won games like this 2-3 years ago. so, while its frustrating to see the O and D let down their guard and intensity particularly in the 2nd half, we are doing what we hafta do to win. period.
 
Some folks saying we are not number two, then who is? Let's look at the Top Ten.


Penn St. struggled with a team much worse than Ol Miss.


Should it be TT. All offense and no defense?


Maybe it should be Florida (oh wait, they lost against this same team).

How about BYU, (they lost last night to boise st),

Georgia (duh),

USC (although maybe they are a good team, they lost one already. "But they are still a good team", Ok, let's just give them the championship every year and forget about playing.)


Oklahoma St. Maybe but I don't know until they play Texas.


So.......Let me ask you again, who do you want to put ahead of us until we lose that is in the top ten.......hmmmm
 
Yes this was sloppy and my wife is not speaking to me right now... but if you would have asked me before the game if I would have taken a 4 point win, you darn right I would have taken it. We could win every game by 1 point from here on out and play for a NC. 1st half dominance is saving us right now. Hope Cody is ok!!!!!!
 
I had open heart surgery this past July, and this was the first test I have had...It about scared me half to death! I am ok and my heart survived I think. I will say that a win in the SEC agaisnt Ole Miss is just great!! I know we blew a 24-3 lead, but 7-0 BABY!!

A 2nd half collapse shouldn't happen in every game. We talk about preventing it, then come out and do it. A win is terrific, but we are better than this.

But I can remember sitting in front of the television watching Bama Vs. Ole Miss back in 1992 (or maybe it was MS St...)--and we almost lost that one, too.:eek2:

There were a few games we almost blew back then but nobody seems to remember them b/c we did win the national championship.

I think if we keep winning--no matter HOW we win (and sure--we would ALL love to dominate every game- don't get me wrong:))--it's good.
Remember this is just Saban's second year and nobody thought we would be sitting where we are right now.

I'm happy with the wins. It's frustrating when they seem to stall--but I'll keep my support for them at 100% and keep my cussing to a minimum (well, today it was fairly bad...)....but Roll Tide and get well soon, Cody. Hope this will be a minor injury and he'll be back to take on the Vols next Sat.

I have a feeling that special teams coach will feel some more heat after this game. CNS just said he knew ( as did I) that they were faking that field goal. He blamed that play on changing the momentum of the game.

One more thing...this Ole Miss team did beat Florida in the Swamp...beating them after that is nothing to be ashamed of...

Just heard a little of Ole Miss post game...in the locker room, Nutt was complimentary of Bama but the sideline guy for Ole Miss said he thought that the spot on the 4th and 1 play was a bad spot...always have to blame the loss on the refs...sheeesshhhh
