I will say this about Auburn and my son and I were talking about it this morning. Auburn is deep and talented but Pearl’s approach allows less talented teams to be in games maybe when they shouldn’t; especially when Auburn is not shooting well. It’s a physical, slower approach that doesn’t maximize number of possessions like Oats’ system does. Greater number of possessions would allow greater talent and depth to prevail. I think that may be why Auburn generally struggles in the NCAA tournament except for the one year they had a bunch of guards who consistently shot it well.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

The problem since the deep run has pretty much been the guards melting. This year we have more balance there.

Unfortunately our frontcourt may have just taken the biggest hit imaginable.
