why is this kid visiting the barn????? please someone tell me that the boogers don't pull some kind of surprise comitt from him come Feb2nd
While I know the visit is scheduled I don't know the history of Auburn recruiting him. I'd love to have more details from our friend. Since Auburn is in his final three and since we know how hard this decision is for him I just wonder the appeal here. I know about their past season. Is there a relationship here with the Auburn staff? I'm surprised it's coming down to an Alabama-Auburn battle with someone from Maryland and someone with a brother on our team. To me it would be tough (really tough) if Cyrus picks Auburn. I wish him the best no matter, but from a fan standpoint that would be a tough pill to swallow. So see it's easy Cyrus.....Roll with the Tide. :D

Well some people think that he could start day one in Bama, which I don't think so, but at awbarn he would definitely start due to the losses on the OL. They have a chance but Bama has been recruiting him much longer

auburn is very good at the "youre not good enough to play at bama" line. they love it. in fact they make sure they tell all our recruits, even ones they have no interest in....

They have a shot but, I have not wavered on Cyrus. I honestly believe--without hesitation--that Cyrus will be at Bama. I'm not even sweating CK visiting Auburn.

Someone posted in the $cam Newton MEGATHREAD that Cecil Newton's contractor/agent, Tony Paige is a graduate of DeMatha. they found this info on wiki so not sure what the legitimacy factor is. If true, it is interesting.

Tell him to relax and enjoy this as much as possible, he's an amazing talent and obviously intelligent if he picks Bama - assuming he applies himself he'll get a great education and his talent will blossom no matter where he goes. We're obviously partial to our staff and think we can offer him the most, but he's going to be fine no matter what he decides...
Fixed it for you. :biggrin2:

Maybe he is going down there to tell other guys that they would be better off with him at Bama. ;)
Seriously, the young man seems to come from an intelligent and well grounded family and looks at things from a very mature prespective. This is the kind of young man I want playing for us and hope he picks us. I think the guy (along with his brother) will make a great combo on the offensive line and both will represent the Univ of AL in a positive manner.
Earlier tonight I heard some recruiting gurus on the radio who seem to have an AU spin to them talking about this Westerman (?) kid and how highly rated he was (#3 tackle in the country, #29 recruit in the country and a 4 maybe 5 star guy). They then got to Cyrus and said very little of him other than many Bama sites believe he is a lock and they would just wait till next week to see what he says after his visit to AU. I might be mistaken but I thought Cyrus was considered the top rated offensive lineman in the country and a solid 5 star from day one of recruiting. None of that was mentioned, just that Bama sites think he is a lock so lets move on. maybe they know something we don't. :cool2:

I hate everything about Auburn, meaning I can't pull myself to listen to anything affiliated with them! If they pull CK from us....then I would say they beat us this year in recruiting. I may get flamed for this....but they would have taken what I see as our most important recruit straight from us. I am praying that they fail MISERABLY!

Any highly-rated player who signs with AU this year will be sorry he did so. JMO...

I agree! Even if they don't get punished for their scandal...they still are not going to be very good for a few years. You can't lose what they are and expect to win with this many inexperienced players starting. I think CK realizes this. Yes, he wants early PT, but waiting one year and learning the tricks of the trade at Alabama may lead to multiple All-American selections!

I think CK is smart enough to realize quality competition is always good. With AD and TL there, CK will be challenged to work as hard as he can, so he can get better as fast as he can. Beating AD and TL for a LT job tastes a lot better than the free starter position from AU.

If CK chooses Auburn, that's his choice. It would be a punch in the gut for Bama fans, but we still have a great team, depth, a solid class, and the best HC in the game. This will come back around to be a struggle for Auburn. It's easier to sell opportunity to a young man when you have open spots on your depth chart. The coaching staff will put together a nice class this year, CK or no. I'd love to have him in crimson, but fans shouldn't lose sight of the big picture. Although, CK takes up a sizable amount of any picture, no matter how big!
