Ok, 20 pages and I haven't seen this posted anywhere. How do you pronounce his (and his brother's) last name? Ko-Juan-Jew or maybe Ko-Juan-Geo?
Quick - somebody shoot an e-mail to Verne! I'm sure he can set us straight!

The "R" sound confuzzles me as well, but I know that there are many words that originate from different countries that add letter sounds when the letter isn't present. I believe the Kouandjio's are originally from Cameroon or another country in Africa. There was a good bit of info posted last year when we were recruiting Arie. There is a Scout article where Cyrus himself tells us how to pronounce his name, but of course, you have to be a paying subscriber to access it. All other public sites that have discussed this also say it is Kwan-DRO. I am not willing to bet the farm on it, but if you have access to the paid Scout site, you can probably get the answer!not sure where the "dro" part comes from. in understood it was kooAndjoe
It appears that Auburn will get Westerman tommorow to decoomit from Texas and commit to them. Which will be huge for them but I think it will eliminate them for Cyrus. Now according to their fans they are getting both but we know how they think.

Since when was Auburn a serious contender for Cyrus?
Good grief.

Had one Auburn fan tell me that they're getting Westerman, Cyrus, Crowell, and Drew.
Cyrus is an absolute monster though. He isn't just a 6'7 320lb kid, he is a very developed 6'7 320lb man with very little bad weight on him.
I can't understand why any kid from Arizona would come all the way to AU, especially when he has been committed to Texas for so long.
Kwan-dro. someone posted that last year when we were recruiting Arie and that is how the ESPN guys pronounced it at the UA game.
I thought the ESPN guys were saying Kwan-jo. I didn't here the d sound. Maybe I heard a different person saying it
When the ESPN announcer talked to Cyrus during the UA game, he definitely put an "R" in the last syllable. Not a strong "R" but there was an "R" in there. I can tell you with 100% certainty, though, the first syllable is KWAN not KAHN.FYI, his name is pronounced "Kwan- djro".
He has family in AL or might be from here at one point. Can not remember on Westerman but he does have a connection to the state.

This is from LAST year's Arie committment thread:

ETA: It is like pronouncing this: "Mike" Krzyzewski (pronounced shÉ™-SHEV-ski) Explain THAT. Haha.
Yes, please. I don't recall ever hearing "ghoti." I am guessing it sounds like "fish"?Better yet. Pronounce ghoti.
Now say "fish."
Let me know if you need an explanation.
